The first rankings update of the summer is here and with summer league play underway, here are the top 10 forwards in the 2025 class to take a look at.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='1450982' first='Gelonni' last='“JuJu” Ervin'] Garfield

One of the top rim defenders in his class, Ervin has shown impressive growth over the past year. He plays aggressive around the paint on both ends, attacking shots and finishing high above the rim. He's a constant presence in transition, continually finds space along the baseline for passes from the dunker spot, and has continued to improve at the free throw line and with his midrange jumper.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='2300107' first='Lucius' last='Fox'] Elite Futures Prep

A versatile forward who can play with power and finesse, Fox is a strong kid who can bully kids at the rim, get out and run the floor, or step out and bury 3s. He can create mismatches across the court with his post play, floor-stretching, and his ability to take slower bigs off the dribble from outside.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1485677' first='Garrett' last='Marrs'] Ellensburg

He's one of the top shooting bigs in his class, both shooting off the catch and off the bounce. He moves really well with the ball, shows great fluidity to attack hard, stop, and hit pull-ups. Marrs is also tough rebounder who establishes good position, and holds his ground in the post to defend inside.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='1631541' first='Breylon' last='Webb'] O'Dea

Webb is one of the more intruiging prospects in his class with his length, rim defense, and ability to drill the outside shot. He's continued to grow, now standing at 6-foot-7, and should be an even higher usage player for the Irish this winter.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='1696643' first='Kody' last='Holcomb'] Union

Holcomb is another player who grew a lot over the last year, jumping from 6-foot-6 to 6-foot-9. He's another long kid with a sweet stroke who's capable of hitting turnarounds over defenders, pulling up off the dribble, and spotting up outside to nail 3s.

6. [player_tooltip player_id='1587998' first='Noah' last='Schow'] Tenino

Schow is a constant double-double threat who was already a versatile wing before showing improved 3-point shooting this spring. If he can continue to shoot at a high rate from outside he'll be a threat to score and create from all over the court. He puts up big number at Tenino and will be one of the top players in the 1A again this winter.

7. [player_tooltip player_id='1631550' first='Nate' last='Christy'] Gonzaga Prep

Christy's a solid big man who can score off the blocks with touch and strength, but really looks to have improved his otuside shooting and ballhandling over the past year. He's a real threat from the corner 3s, can attack closeouts and get to the rim, and shows some great visison passing from both the perimeter and high post.

8. [player_tooltip player_id='1850312' first='Layne' last='Weir'] Bonney Lake

Weir is a kid who shows awesome potential as a powerful big who has great ball skills. He can score in the post, put a move on a defender outside and knife down the lane, and has a nice midrange shot. He's also a kid who attacks shots at the rim and shows promise as a 3-point threat.

9. [player_tooltip player_id='1451032' first='Jeremiah' last='White'] Foster

The Foster wing was one of the top defenders on display at the 3A state tournament last season and as he makes his move to Foster from Rainier Beach, he'll get to show off more of that offensive skill we saw in spurts last season. Last year, he was great slashing to the hoop with or without the ball and could drill short to midrange jumpers around the paint. He's a super athletic wing and I have a feeling we'll see a lot more diversity in his scoring this season.

10. [player_tooltip player_id='1451024' first='Mateen' last='Usui'] Archbishop Murphy

Usui is a kid who's shown a lot of potential in the past and really took a big step forward last season. He was a constant double-double threat who looked much more comfortable attacking off the bounce and creating scoring chances. He's a long kid who could take another big step forward this winter.

Next up: [player_tooltip player_id='1696692' first='Brant' last='Heppner'] Lynden, [player_tooltip player_id='1984466' first='Anthony' last='Washington Jr.'] Roosevelt, [player_tooltip player_id='1696645' first='Makai' last='Daniels'] North Central, [player_tooltip player_id='2300111' first='Cooper' last='Hartley'] Sumner
