Brant had such an amazing high school career during his 4 years at Lynden HS. He took home 3 straight state championships at the 2A level and has progressed his game in a huge way. He is strong down-low and has some of the best footwork I have seen by a big. His signature turn-around mid-range shot has gotten almost un-guardable as he can get the shot off with just about anyone guarding him. He can step out and hit the deep shot while also being able to handle the ball well and facilitate the offense.

Brant has been dominating all season long, using his big frame and strong body to get to his spots. He brings the ball up from time to time, handling the ball like a guard and attacking from the wing smoothly. He plays out of the high post effectively too, having an excellent turn around jumper. Brant is ready to try to claim his 4th straight state championship.

Heppner is another kid who has made big strides since last season and has become Lynden’s top guy as they put together yet another impressive run. The 6-foot-6 wing can make plays from various spots, has the strength to battle inside and work from the blocks, but also has the ability to knock down shots from outside. He’s also been a key playmaker for them, seeing the floor, and making sound decisions. The skilled wing leads the Lions into the District 2 championship game against Lakewood on Wednesday night as they look to continue their undefeated season.

Being a 3 time state champion, Brant has already played in some very big games, which is why I think he has transitioned smoothly into being the team leader/top option. Heppner is averaging close to 20 points a game and is scoring in a variety of ways. He has a beautiful turn around fade from the low post but can also bring the ball up and beat his defender to the rim with one move. He has a unique skillset and has been leading the Lions early this season, looking for his 4th straight state title.

Brant is an absolute monster, using his frame to his advantage when on the court. He rebounds well as he can out body opposing players easily. Heppner has great footwork down low and has a plethora of post moves that help him get open. He not only displayed an improved deep shot on the weekend but also showed he can handle the ball at a higher level, being able to run the point guard if the Lions need a different look.
