This is an obvious one. Noah is the most college ready scorer in the state as he will be spending his freshman year next season at South Carolina. I witnessed one of the best scoring performances as he dropped a quiet 48 points going 7 for 10 from 3pt range and a perfect 9 for 9 from the FT line. He was extremely effective and proved to have unlimited range. Although his 3pt shot was falling, he was operated extremely well in the mid-post area using his strong frame to score at the rim. Noah is going to be a star at the next level.

Cox is an extremely high IQ player that picked the Great Crossing defense a part at times finding open teammates along with knocking down tough shots. He did a great job handling the pressure of Godfrey which really opened the game up for everyone else. Although they didn’t get the win, he had an unbelievable final performance and will carry it over to the college level.

The big 3 of Perry, Shoulders and Reddick get all of the love for Lyon but they don’t win any of those games without Kirk. He is an unbelievable teammate that does all of the dirty work for them. In a way, he is the heartbeat for them and doesn’t complain or get discouraged getting shots. He came down with a ton of clutch offensive rebounds and put backs that took the air out of the opposing teams. Kirk was the perfect complementary piece for this Lyon County team and will look to lead this team next season.

Tilly had a great performance vs Trinity pushing and controlling tempo, getting guys shots and carrying the scoring load when he had to. I loved him defensively as he played with great instincts and his quickness allowed him to get to 50/50 balls. Has 3pt range when he has time, but he was at his best getting to the paint and making plays. Big time player.
Andrae Vasser
Andrae Vasser
Vasser is a strong, physical guard that played extremely well in the up tempo game vs Evangel Christian. Played thru bumps very well and was a force getting to the rim and scoring thru contact. His physical drives gave defenses trouble because to stop him you had to bring multiple defenders. He rebounded great for a guard and also got guys shots. Just an all around good player.
Broc Sorgenfrei
Broc Sorgenfrei
Sorgenfrei etched himself into being one of he best shooters in the state after his performance this past week. He made clutch shot after clutch shot for the Camels and was almost automatic off the catch. What I liked most about him was his shot preparation as the ball never caught him off guard and was always ready to shoot. He didn’t need much time or space to get it off which made him such a threat. Big time performances for the senior.
Garyn Jackson
Garyn Jackson
Jackson had a heck of a showing at Rupp this past week. This past season he was one of the more underrated players in the state but that is no more. He controlled the game with his poise and hardly ever turned it over which is impressive because he had the ball in his hand for about 75% of the game when they were on offense. He was great getting to the rim and finishing tough shots as he had great touch. Next step of his game is expanding his range and being more consistent shooting the basketball but he is big time player that deserves much more recognition than he is getting.
Harlan County doesn’t beat the Camels in the quarter finals if it isn’t for Cottrell. He had the two most important plays of the game knocking down a 3 in the start of overtime and getting a steal on the following play which ignited Harlan on a run and eventually win the game. He played extremely hard and was disruptive defensively and caused havoc. Cottrell was an extremely important piece for them.
