One of the players that I am most excited to see this Spring/Summer because the growth that he had this past year was really impressive and he is set to make another big jump. Kohler has a great skill set and he will sharpen those skills and add a few tricks to his game and we are here for it.
College coaches cannot sleep on this kid, he can play. Hawkins is a player that can shoot but he has som much more to his bag than that so he mixes things up and he really keeps the defense off balance. He was explosive and one of the best bucket getters when it was crunch time and he can finish through that contact.
Atwater was really fun to watch and he was splashing form deep but he really took the next step to his ball handling and creating. If he continues to improve that handle and creating skills his shot is only going to get better because he might get some more space.
Highlights
Jones was one of the most electric players in the state and he was a highlight real whenever he was out there. His length is wild and as his shot is starting to really take shape his whole attack game will only get better. He blocks shots and he is a player that can switch 1-5. Expecting big things from him this grassroots season.
Highlights
Burgess did tap into his potential ut with a lot more growth to go as he has one of the highest ceilings in the class. He has really proven that he is a stretch big with a good shooting touch from deep. Burgess can also block shots and run the floor. He is going to be a big time get at the next level.
JJ got better as the season rolled on and he took a lot of pride in his game. He was one of those players that you could not stop in the ISO game as his quick first step and wiggle was just too much to handle. He was creating space and in that space he was finding scoring and assisting opportunities. His stock is starting to go up and this spring and Summer should be a very calculated time for him to work on his game and sharpen his skills.
Fab 5
Watching this kid play the right regardless the score was very impressive. He had opportunities to simply take over and do it himself but he was always making the right play. Down the stretch he did prove to be a player that can take over and that midrange jumper really compliments his entire array of moves he can go to attacking the rim or finding pockets in the defense to shoot from deep.
Highlights
Su’a was one of those players that can get hot and rattle off so many points from all over the floor. He plays with so much energy and speed. Not only does he play with a high motor he never runs out of gas. The kid defends and the kid is solid on bothe ends of the floor. Westlake in general will be a rising team as they have so much young talent and Su’a is up there leading them.
Highlights
Small school kid but this hooper can go. He does it all as he has to but his skill set would help any team in any classification. He is a mixture of old school and new school and he was relentless all year and next season if gets in the lab and puts in more work out in the perimeter he is going to be a major problem.
Allen was on a new team an it took him awhile to get going but he found his niche attacking the rim as he could go to a spin move and get free or he could simply rise above some of the smaller defenders that cannot really compete with his wingspan. He was very effective on the break grabbing rebounds and pushing the tempo. Allen gets downhill and uses his angles it really increases his chances of scoring or making something happen.
Rosevear was a player that worked on his game and his shooting was great as he has increased his range and he was always catching the ball loaded and ready to shoot. Excited to see what he does once again as he is proving to be a player you need to put on your big board if you are looking for a scoring PG at a small school.
