We are just one day away from the NW June D1 Recruiting Event, and that means just eight teams left in our event preview. Here, we take a look at Skyridge from Utah and the local Sumner Spartans of Washington. Skyridge comes in looking to replace seven of its top nine players from last season. While they do return a key point guard, they will look to some talented younger players to step up and fill in. Sumner returns its first-team all-league point guard and also gets a key transfer back. They'll be in contention for another state tournament appearance this season with a talented group coming together.

[player_tooltip player_id='2675065' first='Koa' last='Wallwork'] 5-11 PG 2028

Wallwork played a key role for the Falcons last season and earned an all-league honorable mention for his work. He'll do all the little things a point guard needs to do to keep his team operating smoothly. He breaks backcourt pressure well, does a good job controlling tempo in transition and into the half court, and has enough in his bag to get penetration and create from some paint touches.

Cooper Griffeth 6-4 F 2028

Griffeth is a solid wing prospect who likes to slash to the hoop. Has some strength with his initial moves along the perimeter to rip through tight defense, get a nice first step, and he attacks the rim hard. Plays pretty aggressive and has some physicality, and will contribute on the boards.

Peter Braithwaite 6-7 C 2028

Braithwaite is a pretty skilled big who has some nice potential. Shows good touch on jump hooks around the basket, has some good post moves, and has shown some promise being able to put it on deck and attack from the perimeter. Lacks a little lateral quickness defensively but will get his hands up and play big in ball screens and when defending the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2751666' first='Jerius' last='Isabell'] 5-11 PG 2028

Isabell plays with great change of pace to get to his spots and get by his man. He's a guy they count on to score and make plays for others, and that ability to manipulate his defender allows him to create tiny advantages that help him create looks for his team. He was a first-team all-league player last season and should have some more scoring options around him this coming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2746865' first='Austin' last='Collins'] 6-6 SG 2028

Collins is back at Sumner after spending last season at Annie Wright. The 6-foot-6 wing is an incredible athlete and he's been more aggressive to make plays with that high-flyer ability this spring. He's blocking more shots, and not just at the rim. He's working harder in transition both ways, and while he's got that big vertical athleticism, he also has the quick twitch that allows him to win first steps and stop on a dime which has helped him find more space for his smooth jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='3585268' first='Parker' last='Fiorito'] 6-2 SG 2027

Fiorito was a key shooter for the Spartans last winter and he will continue to be crucial to spacing the floor with his outside shot. Has some ability to create space with a side-step or quick attack of a closeout, and shows touch from different levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='3622485' first='Trey' last='Mentink'] 6-6 SF 2028

Mentink is another wing at Sumner who could show up in a big way this coming season. He shoots it well enough to capitalize on open shots outside, can handle well enough to attack gaps and get inside, and will work to contest shots and get active on the glass.
