The June D1 Showcase always attracts a bevy of talented players, and in this spotlight, we have eight 2027 guards to breakdown from the event. Each of these guys had a heavy hand in their teams' contests, either as show runners, combo guards, or two-ways guys, and they showed their talent over the weekend.

He's a bully-ball point guard who was clearly one of the most physical players over the weekend. Constantly getting into the paint, creating contact to either get space for shots or work his way to the foul line. Just a hard-nosed player with a big motor who controlled the tempo with his aggressive play and ability to draw fouls. Compliments that strength and physicality with some great footwork, ball fakes, and creativity on the attack. He had game-highs of 22 points against Mead, 31 versus Seattle Prep, and 23 versus Mt. Spokane.

Hightower had a great spring with NW Rotary Rebels. He demonstrated his efficacy as a point guard, setting things in motion, defending his butt off, and scoring when the opportunity presents itself. He continued that type of steadying play this past weekend and just does a great job protecting his dribble, getting the ball where it needs to go, and making sure they get into their sets smoothly. He had a handful of on-ball steals with his quick hands, made a ton of nice feeds while attacking the basket, and knocked down open shots in space.

Ziklik just plays a very balanced and controlled game. He's in the right spots, can be an initiator or play off the ball, and makes quick reads when the rock comes his way. Throughout the weekend, he could be counted on to cash in on big 3-pointers, and finish through contact in the paint. He has great focus finishing around bodies, and led the Kangs with 23 points against Kuna, and 19 against Wilsonville.

Vialva is a guard who can really go. He's got the quickness to shoot gaps and maintains a good base to stay on balance and change direction to navigate high-traffic areas. That balance showed up in some good work utilizing ball screens to get free for shots. Has good elevation on the jumper, mixes his pickups when working downhill, and just plays a composed game with the ball.

Did a good job facing full court pressure to make the right plays and not try to beat it himself. Consistently beat initial defender and created for teammates from paint touches. Did well to keep defenders at a distance along the perimeter and found ways to get the ball to the middle to beat traps and zone defenses. Showed his composure against pressure and ability to create passing lanes. Athletic at the hoop and tough perimeter defender.

He's a tough point guard who looked to play with pace in transition and did a great job attacking angles in advantage situations to force defenders to make early decisions. Was all over the place making plays, always on go, and displayed some solid finishing around the rim. He scored 15 points to lead them in a win over Skyridge.

Moen is the clear leader for this Tahoma Bears squad. He's a kid who will play strong through every phase of the game and is really a key guy in initiating action toward the hoop. He can knock down the outside shot, is strong taking the ball inside, and attacks the game in all areas, helping them out on the glass, advancing the ball, and working hard on the defensive end. He led Tahoma with 22 points against Mountlake Terrace, 17 against Lewiston, and 19 against Seattle Christian.

He can really get going from 3-point range and ended up leading them in scoring in their win over Skyridge with 19 points. Has a strong base that helped him quickly catch and shoot, hit from deep range, and take it inside and finish through bumps. Overall, played with a pretty aggressive and confident mindset to attack on both ends.
