Plenty of big moves up (and down) the list based on production in their freshman seasons. Here’s a look at our new top 5, including a new number 1.
Jack climbs one spot and takes over #1 as he’s putting up a huge statistical season for a Grayson County team that already relies on him to be their go to scorer. Averaging 20 points and 7 rebounds per game and shooting 43/36/87 puts him among the most efficient scorers in the third region and he’s only a freshman.
Right on Logsdon’s heels is another big wing scorer in Montez Gay Montez Gay 6’5″ | SF George Rogers Clark | 2027 State KY . Montez continues to improve and will only get better as his three point shooting gets more consistent. Gay has already added bulk to his frame and if he adds a couple more inches of height, he’s going to be attracting big time colleges to Winchester in the coming years.
Tyce has had an up and down freshman season but his long term potential remains among the best in the state in 2027. Jarvis has had a rough shooting season thus far, especially from three and will need to sure up that part of his game to continue on his very lofty trajectory. Tyce remains one of the best athletes in the class.
One of the biggest risers in this update, Brown goes from 19th in the class to 4th and will certainly be in the mix for the top spot over the next couple of seasons. Ja’Rye is averaging 21 points per game for a DuBois team that is growing up together as the school is still basically brand new. Like Jarvis, Brown needs to improve his three point shooting but all indications are the Ja’Rye is a gym rat who works his tail off.
Another big riser in this update, Langhi goes from 26th to 5th and is having a big season for Marshall County and helping the Marshalls to remain relevant in the 1st region title chase. Matthew has NBA genetics thanks to his dad but is proving to be much more of a wing than his dad was at Vandy and the NBA. Keep an eye on Langhi as his stock could take off in future seasons.
