Expert Analysis
Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Logsdon has been committed to Western Kentucky for what seems like over a year now and was the earliest commit in this class. With his perimeter skills continuing to improve, Jack has the ability to knock down threes at a high clip and has the strong frame to get to the rim and finish through contact. I think Logsdon has moved into the favorite position to win 2027 Kentucky Mr. Basketball.

Logsdon, a WKU commit, has been on a tear for a few years and counting now. He’s got guts of steel as evidenced by his go-ahead fadeaway jumper that sealed the 1-point win versus McCracken County this past weekend. He’s got a lot more talent around him now than he had as an underclassman, so he doesn’t need to carry such a heavy scoring load, but when a bucket is needed, Jack is still the go-to guy. His 29pt, lights-out shooting performance versus Moeller was one of the best of the entire event.

The WKU commit had an impressive weekend, leading his team to multiple wins over other Division I recruits at his position. While Friday Logsdon had a more complete offensive performance in a win over Winton Woods, on Saturday he hit a game-winning pull-up jumper with three seconds left to lift his team past McCracken County in a thriller. Logsdon made a big defensive impact on both ends of the court, defending multiple positions and serving as a help-side rim protector. That toughness and two-way impact has the Western Kentucky staff extremely excited about what Logsdon brings to the table.

Jack just helped get Grayson County to one of their best seasons in school history and will be a front runner for Mr. Basketball next year. The lone committed 2027 in Kentucky, Logsdon is headed to Western Kentucky for college but still has a lot of work to do before he becomes a Topper. A big wing with the ability to knock down shots all over the court, Logsdon excels as a slasher but can also catch and shoot at a high level.

The best player on both ends of the court this evening, Logsdon had a couple of blocked shots in the paint and his ball pressure forced a couple of turnovers. On the offensive end of the court, Logsdon had a couple of assists by using his gravity to attract the defense before finding an open shooter. With the positional size to shoot over smaller defenders, Logsdon had a pair of 3-pointers with defenders right in his face. Grayson County is tough to beat because of their shooting ability and ball movement and if Logsdon gets open shots it is usually a long night for the opposing defense.

Jack has been one of the best players in this class for several years now and is possibly the most consistent of the bunch. A big wing scorer, Logsdon’s threes have not been falling like usual so far this season but he is among the top free throw shooters in the state. Logsdon is asked to do a lot for Grayson County but he’s up to the task and if he continues playing at the level he has been, Grayson will be right in the mix for a 3rd region championship in March.

Missing one of their top scorers, Logsdon has an even greater responsibility for Grayson County this weekend at the King of the Bluegrass tournament. I was impressed by the perimeter shot-making by Logsdon off the dribble, knocking down a tough mid-range pull-up before the first quarter buzzer. Physically dominant in the paint, Logsdon isn’t rushed when he catches the ball underneath the rim and scored or was fouled when he got within 3 feet of the rim. Last time I saw Grayson County Logsdon was coming off an injury and it’s safe to say he’s fully recovered and displayed an even quicker first step on Thursday than he showed in the summer. A top player from western Kentucky, no surprise the Hilltoppers were thrilled with an early commitment from Logsdon this summer.

The only Junior to already be committed for college, Logsdon made his pledge to Western Kentucky the day after they offered him. A big wing who can score the ball at a high clip, Jack is a good shot blocker for his size and is considered to be a contender for 2027 Mr Basketball.

The first player to commit in this class, Logsdon is already off the board to WKU for college. A versatile wing with good size, Jack can score the ball and is an underrated shot blocker for his size. If he can continue to improve his lateral quickness, Jack is going to be ready to play as a freshman at WKU since he should be able to switch across multiple positions.
