After a solid freshman debut at Jefferson and a good spring and summer as the only Oregonian on the NW Rotary Legends on the EYBL 15U circuit, “Fuzzy” stays at the top of the Class of 2026 rankings. The 5-foot-10 lefty already holds an offer from the University of Portland and has added strength and athleticism to his game as he hopes to help lead the Demos back to the 6A playoffs in 2023-24.
Highlights
Unfortunately injury held “Bam” from doing much in terms of playing AAU basketball this off-season, but based on his physical development he certainly spent his time wisely building muscle and adding to what was already a solid frame. The 5-foot-10 point guard also holds an offer from the University of Portland and will be a key player in Central Catholic’s 6A title run this season.
Moving up the top five into the third spot is Lake, who also visibly grew both in height and physically during the off-season. The 5-foot-11 guard is extremely skilled and there has been plenty of talk that he’s already ahead of where older brother Josiah was at the same stage. The starting point guard spot at Tualatin is there for him to take over and the Timberwolves are looking solid to capably defend their title and pursue a three-peat.
Sticking around in the top five is Vizconde, who certainly made his presence felt as a freshman with his ability to knock down open jumpers – he ended up leading all of 6A in three-point field goal percentage. Over the summer he played a bit of a different role with Dynasty on the AAU circuit and he improved his ability to get to the basket and finish. A high-academic performer as well, he’ll play a big part for Mountainside this upcoming year.
Rounding out the top five is Lawson, who burst onto the scene immediately at Canby as a freshman. The 5-foot-10 point guard is very fast and over the course of the season and into the spring and summer, has further developed his physical stature as well as add to his feel for the game. He’ll be a prominent player for the Cougars in 2023-24 for sure.
