It had good attendance for the number of prospects that played in the event. Enough to keep three out of four courts going with action for a couple of hours.
Below will be some players that really shined and some quick hits of others that impressed in some fashion or another.
All in all, a good morning of basketball was had.
Amare Hereford Amare Hereford 6'1" | PG Beloit Memorial | 2026 State WI | 2026 | 6’0″ | G | Beloit Memorial | Team Herro
Especially in his second game of the day this prospect was everywhere and doing it all. He was scoring in multiple ways, showing off athleticism, high flying ability, and pressure on the defensive end. There was really nothing he couldn’t do, and the opponents had no answer for him. If you had seen him play on the day, there would be no way one would come away as not impressed. Clearly in a class almost singularly on the morning. If one has been paying attention this past spring and summer Amare should be considered one of the fastest rising prospects in his class in the state of Wisconsin.
Kevin Pittman | 2026 | 6’9″ | C | West Allis Central | Phenom University
I’ll be one of the first to say that I have not seen a lot of this prospect play but what I do know is that he is a candidate for most improved player over a period of time. He stills has a way to go in terms of being a wing player and fluid movement but there is no denying his improvement. He had multiple high-flying dunks, a few two-dribble drive moves to the hoop, and improvement of interior footwork. The athleticism is coming, the polish moves are inside, with more time and work we should be talking about this one over the next couple of years.
Matt Kloskey | 2026 | 6’4″ | W | Wauwatosa West | ABC Young Lions
This young prospect was another player that jump off the court early. He first impressed with his work on the boards on both ends. Then a couple of put backs happened. Then a couple of strong drives and then the jumpers started to fall. It was like you were watching a young player gain a ton of confidence right before your eyes. His play as the day went on was impressive. I am curious to watch the Tosa West season start and his role there. Here’s to hoping that the confidence keeps gaining and the prospect continues to build off of his success of this event.
Vaughn Karvala Vaughn Karvala 6'5" | SF Oregon | 2026 State WI | 2026 | 6’5″ | W | Oregon | Team Herro
Already a varsity player who average double digits in the freshman campaign this young prospect has continued to improve his game. He looked smooth, confident, and stronger than when I last saw him. He was impressive on the day. I don’t think that it would be too much of a stretch to say that if he keeps working, it will be him Grey, and Jensen at the top of the 2026 class rankings shortly.
Quick Hitters:
DJ Hennings of Tosa West looks to have added muscle weight to his upper body. Plus there wasn’t too many kids that just gets after it the way he does.
Zmari Whitmore 2027 & ABC Young Lion…. talk about a kid that just brings it. It’s this one. He never let’s up, like never. I am starting to watch this one a lot more.
Pavle Djilas Pavle Djilas 6'4" | SF Greendale | 2027 WI 2027 Greendale: Keep working, strive to play high IQ ball, and you’ll get to where you want to go.
Mike Rogers jr 2027 Homestead: another solid outing for this prospect. I feel that I could say this every time I see him play.
Eric Dusick Eric Dusick 6'4" | PF Brookfield East | 2027 WI 2027 Brookfield East: Intriguing length
Eli Krueger Eli Krueger 6'7" | PF McFarland | 2027 WI 2027 McFarland: This kid can be real good. Concentrated training, good coaching, strength training and watch out for the young big.
Lazar Djilas Lazar Djilas 6'7" | PF Greendale | 2027 WI 2027 6’7″ big out of Greendale – emerging young player that I think I see a mean streak in and the want too.
Trey Resch Trey Resch 6'2" | CG Arrowhead | 2027 State WI 2027 Arrowhead – I still like him. Like his pace and like what I see. He has descent size at 6’1 or 6’2″ for the PG slot.
Tim West 2027 Madison Edgewood – really nice player out of Madison. Might just be at the top of the class.
