At 6’8”, Djilas emerged as one of the most intriguing prospects in his class. With a smooth handle for his size and impressive wingspan, he wowed the crowd with coast-to-coast finishes and playmaking off the dribble. The Brookfield Academy standout showed he can play above the rim, protect the paint, and create offense at all three levels. His versatility on both ends made him a major asset for Team 5.

has some versatility to his game at 6’8. He’s an agile forward at his size, and was active in the half-court offense setting screens, and leaving opposing bigs chasing him as he rolled to the hoop or popped out looking to catch and shoot from three. He has the shooting touch to make you pay for letting him catch in space from three, but is agile enough to beat opposing forwards with a backdoor cut if they step out too far on him. Despite a long and slender frame I thought he did a nice job competing physically with bigger forwards in the paint.

Djilas focused on sharpening his skills over the summer months. He took his talents to Brookfield Academy this fall. Djilas had an impact in the paint on both ends of the floor for team 7. Standing at 6’7, I was really surprised at his ability to handle the ball on the perimeter. He made a huge impact extending possessions with this nose for the ball. Djilas was very methodical when looking to score. I was really impressed with his playmaking ability and willingness to make the extra pass.

Lazar has some nice tools to work with moving forward. He has a level of handle and perimeter skill you don’t often see in 6’7 guys, but he’s also not afraid to mix it up in the paint. Because he’s a threat to shoot from three, he did a nice job of using a shot fake and then attacking a bad closeout to get into the paint. I’m interested in seeing how he performs at his new school this winter.
