Chris seems to improve each time I see him play. A very long and lanky 6’6 forward, Retic was just about automatic any time he touched the ball near the basket. He can score with a baby hook, or knock down a turnaround jumper from the 8-12 foot range. With his length and high release point, Tremper defenders had a hard time getting a good contest on him. Defensively he’s able to move his feet with ease to guard smaller players, and was a real difference maker blocking/altering shots around the rim. He put up 36 points and 20 rebounds in the triple overtime game.

Size is a valuable commodity on the basketball court. Size combined with skill is an even bigger plus. Retic has both of those attributes and he has performed well thus far this season for Golda Meir after transferring to the school from Kenosha Reuther over the summer. He is averaging 14.9 ppg on a squad that is 9-2 and also features standout backcourt performers

A transfer student from Kenosha Reuther, Retic took a bit to get going in Golda Meir’s win over Lake Country Classical. But once he settled in, Retic became a force near the basket with his athletic moves to the rim. He also was able to knock down a three-point jumper for Golda Meir on the way to scoring 17 points before fouling out late in the game. Retic will need to get stronger in order to better absorb bumps in the lane, but once he adds some more muscle and weight to his long frame, he will become an even bigger force for the Owls.

Physically I didn’t see many more impressive players than Retic this weekend as his frame is next level. Still a work in progress offensively, Retic showed flashes as a play finisher and perimeter shooter. With Retic’s physical tools, his defensive upside is huge and again he showed flashes on that end of the court. If Retic can make the impact plays I see occasionally at a consistent level, he could be one of the most dominant players on the Prep Hoops Circuit.

Christopher showcased some intriguing long-term potential on Sunday morning running with Limitless. He has a long and lanky frame, with some mobility and fluid athleticism at his size. Retic showed the ability to take a rebound and run the break on his own, looking comfortable weaving through defenders in the open floor. Had one play where he went coast-to-coast before dropping a dime at the last second to a teammate at the rim. Christopher showcased good vision, with the ability to pass off the drive or out of the block. Looked comfortable stepping out to the perimeter for an outside jumper too.
