. Together, McCottry and Konneh form the state’s best duo. Konneh is up to 6’8″ and puts up 23 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks per game. That’s known as a stat sheet stuffer. He’s a nightly double-double that has earned the attention of high major schools. The physical tools are certainly intriguing, especially with his 7+ foot wingspan. He can play either forward spot and has a guard like handle. He’s another high feel offensive player with a growing outside shot. The mid-range jumper looks fundamentally good. He’s an exceptionally strong finisher around the rim, able to score through contact, as well as catch lobs and finish put backs. There’s two-way potential with his shot blocking skills as well. His ceiling is high.

Sekou took control of the paint to lead St. Thomas More past Carmen NW on Saturday. He recognized his size advantage, and started working to establish good position around the basket. Sekou was making quick cuts in from the dunker spot when a teammate drove, and it allowed him to catch and throw down some explosive dunks once that dump-off pass arrived. At 6’7 he explodes off the floor effortlessly, and defenders were helpless as he threw down dunk after dunk over the top of them.

There wasn’t much stopping Sekou when he caught around the basket. He’s just so quick and explosive off the floor at his size, and looks to dunk it every time he can. Sekou is really good out of the dunker spot, but can also catch on the wing and make plays off the dribble. Does a nice job of playing off two feet when he drives, allowing him to gather his balance before powering up to finish. Really impressive defender with his ability to move his feet on the perimeter when switched out on to guards, while also posing a shot blocking threat inside.

. He finished with 19 points in the blowout win. When evaluating Sekou as a prospect, his physical tools and defensive potential instantly stick out. He’s up to 6’8″ and has a plus wingspan that he uses to his advantage. On the Nike EYBL Circuit, he’s tallied 19 blocks and 10 steals in just 12 games. Keep in mind that Sekou is playing just 21.5 minutes per game and made the jump to the circuit this season. On the offensive end, Sekou is a beast on the boards. He has a nose for the ball and great timing on put back dunks. He’s an above the rim athlete and a rim runner lob threat. As an offensive prospect, he’s still raw but has flashed some on ball scoring creativity, a part of his game that I believe will continue to grow. His jump shot is improving, but is still a work in progress. Sekou currently holds offers from Miami (OH) and UW Milwaukee and more will follow. He’s still flying under the radar, but should catch the attention of a few high major programs come next fall.
