With a majority of the class already giving their verbal commitment to colleges or taking advantage of the early NLI signing period in November, the following players have the potential to be game changers for college programs.
As a note, different scouts, insiders, and basketball sites have different offers for different players. To keep things consistent and accurate, the offers included in this article will be via Verbal Commits.
Offers: UW-Milwaukee, Miami (OH), & Grambling State
Now listed as 6’6″, Amari McCottry Amari McCottry 6’5″ | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State #304 Nation WI is a big guard that excels with the ball in his hands. He’s a big reason why St. Thomas More (13-1) is ranked #1 in Division III and likely the favorite to win the state title. McCottry leads the team in scoring with 23 points per game to go along with 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game. He exploded for 37 points and 14 rebounds against #4 Nicolet. He’s a do it all kind of playmaker when he steps on the floor. McCottry is athletic, quick, versatile, and can finish above the rim. He’s a beast in transition, excels attacking the rim off the dribble, has great balance when finishing, and is a high feel offensive player. With some hard work, he may be able to develop into a point-of-attack defender at the next level. The tools are certainly there. The outside shot is still developing, but McCottry is a guy that can make an impact day one at mid-major schools.
Offers: Louisville, Loyola Chicago, Indiana State, UW-Milwaukee, & Miami (OH)
The other reason why St. Thomas More is the likely favorite to win the Division III state title is Sekou Konneh Sekou Konneh 6’6″ | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State WI . Together, McCottry and Konneh form the state’s best duo. Konneh is up to 6’8″ and puts up 23 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks per game. That’s known as a stat sheet stuffer. He’s a nightly double-double that has earned the attention of high major schools. The physical tools are certainly intriguing, especially with his 7+ foot wingspan. He can play either forward spot and has a guard like handle. He’s another high feel offensive player with a growing outside shot. The mid-range jumper looks fundamentally good. He’s an exceptionally strong finisher around the rim, able to score through contact, as well as catch lobs and finish put backs. There’s two-way potential with his shot blocking skills as well. His ceiling is high.
Offers: Minnesota Moorehead, St. Cloud State, & Northern Michigan (Division II)
Although Cody Schmitz Cody Schmitz 6’4″ | SG Gale Ettrick-Trempeleau | 2024 State WI only holds offers from Division II schools, he’s a Division I talent. Don’t get that twisted. The spring AAU season is an important recruiting period, especially for players going into their senior year. Unfortunately, Schmitz was sidelined with a broken foot, thus hurting his recruitment. At 32 points per game, Schmitz ranks 7th in all of Wisconsin and 2nd in Division II for PPG. The kid can flat out score and from all three levels. He’s shooting 37.5% from three, on a volume of nearly 8 attempts per game. He’s scored 40+ points three times this year, but also grabs 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game. He has the ability to play on ball and off ball. The outside shot looks really good. He can create for himself on the perimeter, shoot from range, spot up, and shoot off movement. At 6’5″, with a high release point, his shot is rarely altered. New Hampshire conducted an in-home visit and other low/mid major schools should check in on the scoring machine.
Offers: UW-Milwaukee
The reigning Southeast Conference Player of the Year will most likely win the award again this year. He’s averaging 26 points and 14 rebounds per game and coming off a huge week. In his last two games, Stackhouse scored a game winning layup and then proceeded to drop 38 points the next game. His lone offer is from UW-Milwaukee, although he should likely have a few more. He’s a low/mid major prospect that needs more attention. At 6’7″, 205 lbs, Stackhouse still moves extremely well. He’s coordinated, has a decent handle, and can lead the break off of the rebound. The lefty dominates around the rim with his back to the basket play, but can also finish with his right.

Alongside Duke commit, Kon Knueppel, Sam Mickelson Sam Mickelson 6’7″ | PF Madison Memorial | 2024 State WI was a 2024 McDonald’s All-American nominee. The mid-range jumper looks good. He’s someone who can operate as a short roll pick-and-roll threat, if he can consistently knock down the jumper. His back to the basket game is good and he can attack off the dribble from the perimeter going right. He also has the potential to be a stretch floor option. He’s someone to monitor at the low major level and worthy of offers at the Division II level.
