only holds offers from Division II schools, he’s a Division I talent. Don’t get that twisted. The spring AAU season is an important recruiting period, especially for players going into their senior year. Unfortunately, Schmitz was sidelined with a broken foot, thus hurting his recruitment. At 32 points per game, Schmitz ranks 7th in all of Wisconsin and 2nd in Division II for PPG. The kid can flat out score and from all three levels. He’s shooting 37.5% from three, on a volume of nearly 8 attempts per game. He’s scored 40+ points three times this year, but also grabs 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game. He has the ability to play on ball and off ball. The outside shot looks really good. He can create for himself on the perimeter, shoot from range, spot up, and shoot off movement. At 6’5″, with a high release point, his shot is rarely altered. New Hampshire conducted an in-home visit and other low/mid major schools should check in on the scoring machine.

To say that this prospect can score is an understatement. He came out at the start of this contest did just that. He had his team rolling and scored the first 20 points of the team’s 27. It was an impressive to say the least. He ended up scoring 22 for the contest after the opponent started playing a box and 1 on him. I had not seen Cody play since the summer and I can say that I can see improvement. He is looking leaner or more muscular than he had in the past and his athleticism is popping out more. If he keeps scoring at the 30 point per game rate I am sure that colleges are going to take notice soon.

Not many players in Wisconsin can put up points like Cody. There aren’t many spots on the floor that he isn’t capable of shooting from, and at 6’5 he’s a difficult matchup because most players his size can’t move with him. Scholarship level prospect scoring 29.7 ppg.
