Christian Williams – Chaparral – 2027
Williams brings a winning pedigree and competitiveness you rarely find among prospects at his age. The guard took every possession to heart, kicked off through his excellent defensive abilities. Although an incoming freshman, Williams is already a wrecking ball in the backcourt, proving especially strong while retaining notable mobility. He was among the most productive defenders from the event, impressively mobile laterally while boasting strength only a few players at this event could compete with. Williams also proved his competitive spirit, among the first back on transition most possessions, especially helpful as a safety hunting down outlet passes. While on offense, Williams was the conduit for his team, generating plenty of drives to the basket. His initial first step makes him tough to stay in front of, complemented by supreme positional strength to bump away opponents. Although getting downhill with ease, the guard was not selfish, often seeking kickout passes once strong side help attempted to stunt the drive. Williams remains among the most dynamic backcourt prospects in the state, certainly among the top names in the state’s 2027 class.
Archie Weatherspoon V Archie Weatherspoon V 6'0" | CG Rangeview | 2027 State CO – Rangeview – 2027
Weatherspoon is an incredibly talented shotmaker, proving to have high upside as a three level scorer. The guard put on a show through just about every game, completed by three level scoring that appeared to come easy all weekend. Weatherspoon got wherever he wanted on the floor, capitalizing on a wide variety of layups through contact. Although not the bulkiest guard, he sought out contact and displayed incredible touch on mid-air readjustments. Even through double clutch layups, the guard sought out a challenge versus his peers. Certainly a dynamic ball handler who was capable of creating his shots and changing speeds, these skills catapulted him as a prolific shooter through the weekend. Capable of knocking down spot-up threes from NBA range, the guard boasts a compact form that you only find in a handful of prospects on an annual basis. What separates Weatherspoon is his combination of athleticism, outlier touch, and feel for the game. Defensively, when locked in the guard was difficult to score on, given his quick instincts and lateral quickness.
Aiden Wanrow Aiden Wanrow 6'7" | PF Eagle Ridge Academy | 2027 State CO – Eagle Ridge Academy – 2027
Wanrow is the real deal, standing right around 6’7, the forward is a two-way threat who is highly advanced for his age. The forward is a capable downhill scorer, boasting enough strength and consistency handling the ball to control driving lanes. Wanrow boasts counters on the attack, utilizing spin moves to get into opposite hand layups or turnaround fadeaways around the paint. He even caught the box office moment of the day, throwing down a poster dunk on a transition breakaway above the rim. The forward’s fluidity both handling and finishing are highly encouraging for his age. Defensively, Wanrow was swatting away shots left and right, boasting great timing to get up without being baited into fouls. His continued progression as a perimeter scorer will be fascinating, given his athletic talents.
