Continue ReadingJustin Mitchell Justin Mitchell 6’4″ | SG TD Prep | 2024 GA suited up for TD Prep on Thursday night, a sensible fit for the 2024 guard who’s reminded us of his talent this spring with Team Scoot. Mitchell put on a beautiful display of scoring in both games, mixing in a variety of three-balls, strong finishes, and transition dunks. Mitchell’s skillset is polished and he possesses an understanding of the game that gives him a leg up. Physically, Mitchell is ready for the college level and provides good size for a combo guard.
Amari Owens came out attacking on Thursday and really stepped up as the catalyst for Bryan Station. He was very effective in the pick and roll, usually either scoring at the rim or dropping a dime to his big. Owens has a strong frame for his age and absorbs contact well on the drive. The lefty also showed off a nice jumper that went in a few times. Owens made the most of his trip to Atlanta and showed why many consider him a top 2026 prospect in the state of Kentucky.
Highlights
The Norcross squad that played on Thursday is likely far from their November roster but the group they brought did some interesting things, Michael Pace Michael Pace 6’4″ | CG Norcross | 2024 State GA especially. Pace loves to up the tempo and he was constantly beating defenses up the floor, slicing through bodies to get to the rim. You get so much activity from Pace on both ends of the floor, his size and athleticism providing a lot of versatility too. This month of June could be huge for Pace as he’ll likely be playing in front of a lot of important eyes.
St. Francis as a whole looked very impressive on Thursday, adding some vital pieces around the returning backcourt of Greg Howard Greg Howard 6’1″ | CG St. Francis | 2025 State GA and Reynolds Escher Reynolds Escher 6’0″ | PG St. Francis | 2025 State GA . Howard’s abilities were on display nonetheless, rare speed to go with a nice handle and some creativity at the rim. He’s electric in the open floor and scored a lot of his points by pushing the ball up the floor. Howard is far from a finished product and looks more and more intriguing with each step he takes.
Andric Parent
Andric Parent
I’ve been telling folks to watch out for Mt. Paran next year as they return a young backcourt nucleus of Andric Parent, Tony LoPresti Tony LoPresti 6’3″ | PG Mount Paran Christian | 2026 State GA , and Cam Hewling to surround a healthy Bradley Kemp Bradley Kemp 6’7″ | PF Mt. Paran | 2024 State GA inside. Parent was a key piece for them last year and he brings back some real playmaking ability at the point. He’s quick and speedy, able to get inside and create off penetration. SEBA’s influence can be seen all over the Mt. Paran program and Andric Parent is a great example of that.
