Kyle Sandy | Prep Hoops Scout
The JMU-signee recorded 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocks. His length, skill set and athleticism hurt the smaller Atomsmashers. A jack of all trades, Smith scored from multiple levels throughout.

slides up to #4 in the latest update, his limitless versatility and proven pedigree worthy of a spot in the top 5. Smith is an elite defender that can stop low-post scorers or step out and cover ground on the perimeter. Offensively, Smith has grown more and more consistent from the three-point line. He’s also effective in the pick and roll and as a slasher from the wing. In my opinion, James Madison got one of the best mid-major steals of this recruiting class in

has seen his fair share of accolades throughout his 4 years at Sandy Creek and all signs point to him landing on the all-state list again. Smith is the engine that makes Sandy Creek go and after winning the state championship as a junior, I expect him to hold the standard high. Smith is an extremely versatile forward, willing to battle inside but also capable of attacking from the perimeter where he utilizes the spin move so well. When Sandy Creek likes to play fast, Smith is one of the best rim-runners in the state. I can certainly foreshadow Smith posting some eye-popping numbers this year in both the scoring and rebounding categories.

is another unique prospect, a SF-PF tweener but effective in either role. Smith is a high-motor guy that loves to defend and get up and down the floor. Smith can score from either post but I think he’s at his best when penetrating where he likes to incorporate his spin move. Added offers from Clemson, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Western Kentucky, FGCU, and Georgia State in June.

Athletic, active and skilled. Posted 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 1 block vs. ECU. Plays above the rim. Springy defender. Anticipates passes well, baits opponents into cross court passes. A true inside-out threat. Will go on the block one possession and play on the perimeter the next.

Smith’s blend of size, skill and athleticism gave Cedar Grove problems from the opening tip. The swingman finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Micah’s ability to hang in the air and make decisions was impressive. He would float to score, but if he saw an opponent teammate behind the defense’s back line he would riffle in a last second assist. Sandy Creek claimed their first state title, using an 18-0 second quarter to gain separation as they beat Cedar Grove for the fourth time, 66-38.

has been at the top of this class for a while now and has put together an impressive list of high-major offers. He can play the 3 or the 4 and is hard to stop when attacking from the perimeter, especially his spin move. Smith lives above the rim, dunking everything and he runs the floor really well too.
