Continue ReadingAce Bailey Ace Bailey 6’9″ | SF McEachern | 2024 State #2 Nation GA is the undisputed #1 player in Georgia and there’s a case to be made that he’s the best in the country. Bailey moves and handles the rock like a natural guard, yet he skies above the rim for highlight dunks and rejections. He can hit shots from nearly anywhere on the floor and his bag is deep with pro-level moves. Expect to hear his name a lot next year at Rutgers.
Micah Smith Micah Smith 6’7″ | SF Sandy Creek | 2024 State #144 Nation GA slides up to #4 in the latest update, his limitless versatility and proven pedigree worthy of a spot in the top 5. Smith is an elite defender that can stop low-post scorers or step out and cover ground on the perimeter. Offensively, Smith has grown more and more consistent from the three-point line. He’s also effective in the pick and roll and as a slasher from the wing. In my opinion, James Madison got one of the best mid-major steals of this recruiting class in Micah Smith Micah Smith 6’7″ | SF Sandy Creek | 2024 State #144 Nation GA .
Lawson’s consistent production year after year cannot be ignored and his hot start to the new season has him trending upwards. It’s hard to limit Lawson to one position as he’s so good around the paint, yet you’ll often see him bringing the ball up and directing traffic from the top of the key. He’s got a natural feel for the game and a high IQ. Lawson remains one of Georgia’s best seniors still on the board.
Joah Chappelle Joah Chappelle 6’8″ | SF Dutchtown | 2024 State GA ‘s stock is soaring upwards as he’s been on an absolute tear from game one. The 6’8 lefty expanded his perimeter skillset tremendously in the offseason and is now proving to be much more than a high-motor athlete. Chappelle is a killer in the open floor and has some playmaking abilities that may surprise you for a guy his size. He holds a number of JUCO offers but I wouldn’t be surprised if he lands with a D1 in coming months.
While a nagging injury has limited Clark’s time on the floor in recent months, we’re reminded of the talent each time he steps out. Clark can play either the 3 or the 4 depending on the scheme and has a very polished offensive game at 6’7. He’s a true three-level scorer. After a great career at Campbell, Clark is now at Wheeler where will he’ll look to prove himself against the country’s best talent.
