We finish off the NCISAA Team Camp with two sessions of games, and I’m excited about the four squads highlighted below. All are going to be in the mix for conference and state titles, and all have high level prospects that schools need to put eyes on. Read along for what I think about my favorite two matchups of the day.
Morning Session
Cannon takes on Trinity Christian. For Cannon, Austin Swartz Austin Swartz 6'5" | SG Cannon | 2024 State #40 Nation NC has continued to separate himself as a top national player and is a big time scorer that should be mandatory for high major programs to get in contact with. Isaiah Henry Isaiah Henry 6'5" | CG Cannon School | 2025 State #162 Nation NC is another guard that scores well, but I’d contend he’s more physical and stronger, while Swartz is the better shooter. Max Murash is a 2024 that should garner some lower level looks with his size, but needs to continue putting on strength and physicality. Keenan Dixon and Judah King are younger guards (2025 and 2026 respectively) that will continue to get minutes and develop behind the elite talent they have now. For Trinity Christian, Justin Caldwell Justin Caldwell 6'9" | PF Trinity Christian | 2026 State NC is the biggest college prospect, a 6’8 big who continues to grow offensively but is already really solid in the low post. However, 2024s Linwood Rowe Linwood Rowe 6'6" | SF Trinity Christian School | 2024 State NC and Michael Ross Jr. will be key to sustaining their teams success. Rowe is an impressive above the rim threat and slasher, and Ross makes plays and really runs the offense to make sure his teammates get to their spots. I’m not sure who else they may be getting in terms of 2027s or new varsity players, but those three will help sustain them being competitive in their conference/class. I’ll be interested to see how these teams perform with some new roles and improvements from guys.
Afternoon Session
Forsyth Country Day vs. Greenfield is where we will be finishing our previews for the weekend, and both teams have great groups of next level players for coaches to get a look at before they leave town. For the Furies, it’s a very balanced attack that is probably led by Draven Pilson Draven Pilson 6'7" | SF Forsyth Country Day | 2024 State NC next year, a true 3 and D wing with college level size and length. Iverson King Iverson King 6'6" | CG Forsyth Country Day | 2024 State NC can also really shoot it and profiles similarly to Pilson, and Jahon Foster Jahon Foster 6'3" | CG Forsyth Country Day | 2024 State NC will run the show as a crafty PG who gets to spots off the bounce and makes plays. Sacha Geremski has been outstanding in the spring grassroots season, but FCDS will need to see if their underclassmen step up to fill roles and help the group improve. For Greenfield, it all still runs through interior presence Hampton Evans Hampton Evans 6'5" | PF Farmville Central | 2024 State NC , but Kobe Edwards and Nik Edwards Nik Edwards 6'3" | SF Greenfield | 2024 State NC are rapidly improving in their own rights. Nik is older and further along, with a downhill slashing element to his game, but Kobe may end up being better than his brother. He’s a playmaker and seems so mature on the floor even though hes a 2026. They have also added Gabe Marquis Gabe Marquis 6'1" | CG Greenfield | 2024 State NC and Tyler Barnes Tyler Barnes 6'3" | CG Greenfield | 2024 State NC to bolster their backcourt with experiencing and scoring, and retained leader Matt Kirby Matt Kirby 5'11" | PG Greenfield | 2024 State NC . This squad has stayed loaded, and really should be ready to compete for a state title next year.
