Tyler Barnes
About Tyler
Expert Analysis
Charles Clark | Prep Hoops Scout
Another player that can create matchup problems for opponents because of his versatility. He’s strong and athletic enough to guard bigs on one end of the floor but still has all of the guard skills that we have seen from him over the past few years.

with the scoring load, finishing with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 shooting from behind the arc. He’s another unsigned senior prospect that DII programs need to take note of given his confidence around the rim and two-way presence on the wing.

You know what you’re going to get from him each time he steps on the floor which is energy, effort and production. He’s the type of player that really doesn’t take plays off, constantly applying defensive pressure to opponents and attacking the paint for drawn fouls and buckets.

A player that you love to have on your team, he put together several successful seasons at Rocky Mount HS but will be making the move to The Greenfield School for his Senior season. He makes a nice impact on both sides of the ball, brings a high amount of intensity whenever he steps on the court and will do whatever it takes to help his team win. College programs at the D2 level have already shown interest with ECSU being one of the first to extend a scholarship offer.

Tyler Barnes continues to climb up the radar as the unsung leader on the Team Trezz Edwards wing/defensive front. He’s back fully healthy and showing no signs of slowing down with his ability to apply on-ball pressure and finish at the rim with authority. He’ll be one to watch during the June Live period at Greenfield School.

Tyler Barnes is a name that continues to show his improvement on both ends of the floor since returning from injury this past summer. The knee brace is gone and he’s moving better than ever as he shows he can knock down shots off the bounce, defend at a high level and finish in traffic. He’s another wiry guard for DII programs in the region to get eyes on.

A player that always brings max effort every time he steps on the floor, he made a big impact for his team throughout the weekend and continues to prove why he is a player that college coaches should be watching. Offensively he plays within the flow of the team concept and on the defensive end, he applies constant pressure without fouling or gambling too often.
