The annual DMV Live at DeMatha, Virginia Live Period Shootout (VISAA) and Alexandria City and the first ever VA Live by the VHSL will take place at Saint James, all within a 30 mile radius of each other.
We will take the next week or so breaking down the many prospects for coaches to take a look at in these events, and there’s a TON of them.
Here’s a look at part one of the Maryland prospects at the DMV Live we expect to make noise at the event.
Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | 6’5” WF | Archbishop Spalding ’25
Washington is a very highly touted quarterback prospect, but if he chose basketball he’ll likely be a high major prospect on the hardwood as well. He’s an elite level athlete with the ability to make plays on both ends of the floor that most can’t make, he has quarterback type of feel as he’s always around the ball and makes good decisions, he can make shots from all over and he’s a very good rebounder too.
Martin Sommerville | 6’2” CG | Bishop McNamara ’24
Sommerville has emerged as one of the top rising seniors in the DMV over the past few years, as the 6’2” combo is a talented shot maker and playmaker that makes winning plays. He’s a big time shooter with range and a quick release from deep, he moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly, he can put it on the deck and touch the paint and he’s a very good help side defender too.
Jaren Curtis Jaren Curtis 6'1" | PG Bishop McNamara | 2025 State MD | 6’1” CG | Bishop McNamara ’25
Curtis has been a DMV Live staple since he was a rising freshman, and the 6’1” combo has a unique game you wouldn’t expect when you look at him. He’s a very good shooter and finisher on the offensive end who can score the ball efficiently, but it’s the defensive end where he surprises as he rebounds and protects the rim unlike most his size and he jumps passing lanes and guards the ball well too.
Prince Moody Prince Moody 6'4" | SG Bishop McNamara | 2026 State MD | 6’4” WG | Bishop McNamara ‘26
Moody was recently anointed as the #1 prospect in the Prep Hoops MD inaugural 2026 rankings after a big freshman year with McNamara, and he’s going to have a lot of college coaches watching him during the live period. The 6’4” wing already has a great frame and is an explosive athlete who gets downhill and plays above the rim, he can score the ball in bunches from all three levels and he’s got a competitive chip to the way that he plays and gets after it.
Jalyn Collingwood Jalyn Collingwood 6'5" | SF Bishop McNamara | 2026 State MD | 6’7” PF | Bishop McNamara ’26
Collingwood is well on his way to being a top prospect in the DMV and is a player coaches should watch closely at DMV Live as he has big time upside as he continues to develop. At 6’7” he is still growing and is already a very good athlete who can play above the rim with ease, he’s starting to show major improvement on his perimeter skills with his ability to catch and shoot from deep and put it on the deck and he has the tools to guard multiple positions moving forward.
Qayden Samuel | 6’4” WF | Bisop McNamara ’26
Samuel is another impressive prospect for this very talented McNamara young core who will be a tough team to matchup with in the WCAC if they all stay together moving forward. Samuel is a big and physical guard who can get downhill and play through contact and get to the line a lot, he shoots the ball well from deep both off the catch and off the bounce and he has a knack for making plays defensively that lead to easy points for his team.
Adrien Stevens Adrien Stevens 6'4" | SG Bullis | 2025 State #113 Nation MD | 6’4” WG | Bullis ’25
Bullis has put together quite the program over the last few years, and Stevens has emerged over the last season as one of their top shooters and is an intriguing prospect because of it. The 6’4” wing understands spacing and moves well off the ball to relocate and get open, he has a quick release and great form with effortless range and consistency and he trends as a 3 and d prospect with his ability to guard and rebound as well.
Jayson Peterson Jayson Peterson 6'8" | C Bullis | 2025 State MD | 6’8” PF | Bullis ’25
Peterson is another young prospect for Bullis that is starting to come into his own, as the 6’8” forward has a blend of size, athleticism and skill that trends well for him as he continues to develop. He has long arms and is a natural athlete who can run the floor and get opportunities with his guards in transition, he can play above the rim and is a good rim protector defensively and he can step out and knock down shots on the perimeter too.
