Stevens’ night was marred by relentless defensive pressure from Grace, a formidable opponent whose defensive tactics caused him a lot of problems. Grace’s relentless defense proved difficult for Adrien to navigate, disrupting his usual flow and ability to make plays. Despite his consistent play throughout the tournament for making creative plays, Adrien struggled to find his rhythm. He had a particularly rough night, finishing with just 2 points, shooting 1-10 from the field. His performance was further hampered by 4 turnovers, which compounded the difficulties he faced. In a game where his team needed his usual brilliance, Adrien’s struggles were evident. The pressure on defense stifled his creativity and his ability to facilitate playmaking, resulting in a stat line that fell short of his typical standards. Though it was a challenging night for

, his capabilities and talent remain unquestioned. This game will undoubtedly serve as a learning experience and a motivator for future performances, reminding him and his fans that even the best athletes face tough games. Stevens was still named the Most Outstanding Player of the MD Private Tournament this year.

-From the jump, Stevens was getting to it in a rivalry matchup with G Prep. The Marquette commit repeatedly put pressure on the rim, relentlessly attacking his matchup’s outside shoulder to get downhill to lay the ball up off of acrobatic spin moves in the paint. Stevens adjusted well to hit a double clutch lay off the window through the contact, hit a baseline turnaround when his defender shaded to his top shoulder, and did a phenomenal job of play-making from the midpost or short corner with his back to the basket. Love the adjustments he’s made to his body to allow him to decelerate quickly off the bounce, pulling up on a dime to then explode in the opposite direction to gaps in the defense. Set out on a mission to embarrass his opponent and he successfully did that– using the scoring gravity from his first half barrage to then find open teammates in the 2H.

-Jumper wasn’t falling at its usual clip in the two games that I saw but Stevens didn’t settle, instead showing his ability to attack closeouts and use his athleticism to finish over and around opponents at the rim. He’s starting to use his scoring gravity to hit the roller in the key and is defending at a much higher level, collecting deflections/forcing dribble pick-ups by anticipating crossovers and cutting off driving paths to the rim without fouling. Excited to see how his senior year pans out with a Bullis team that figures to be a top-3 team in the area this upcoming season.

impressed today on both sides of the ball. His defense led to offense a couple of times today, and he had a couple of fantastic takes. Adrien was excellent in every aspect of this game, including his scoring, passing, defense, and rebounding. He finished this game with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists.

had a nice day for Bullis and turned many heads. He had an outstanding second half with some nice moves and finishes. Adrien does it all on both ends. He plays hard and passes the ball well. He scores at all three levels and has risen over the past few months. He finished with 17 in Bullis’s win over Mt. Zion.

Stevens has blossomed into one of the more promising long-term prospects the DMV has to offer. Based on his rate of improvement over the last 6-12 months, an All-Met nod is not out of the question.
