-Liked the renewed energy on the defensive side of the ball from Curtis as I think he can be one of the better on-ball perimeter defenders in the area if he makes that one of his goals. Also like what I saw from him in the halfcourt, with Curtis showing off some improved scoring chops with a soft touch on floaters in the paint and a 2/3 performance from beyond the arc. As he grows accustomed to filling his team’s needs in a new setting alongside Mundey, more college interest will likely be generated by consistent performances.

-Explosive downhill driver that has added to his scoring bag since the end of the last high school season despite an injury that held him out of stretches this summer. Curtis transferred into Prince George’s Christian Academy (formerly Shabach) and will step into a bigger role as a guard that can play both on and off the ball alongside Mundey in the backcourt. Liked that Curtis is utilizing his pivot to create easier scoring opportunities in the paint while adding in touch shots off of 2 feet and faders from the midpost to score at a more consistent level. A tenacious on-ball defender, he can impact the game by forcing turnovers and getting the Eagles out in transition

who is heading to Shabach Academy where he joins another top ranked guard. You can describe Jaren as steady and solid, because he makes all the right plays you want in a PG. The very athletic guard gets to his spots for the mid-range jumper which he shoots well. The Metro Private League Conference is getting another All-Conference guard and you heard it heard first.

-One of the toughest players in the area, Curtis put his head down and got to the rim time and time again in a 2H run that almost gave the Mustangs a comeback victory. He rebounds the ball exceptionally well for his position and gives McNamara some much-needed perimeter moxy and toughness on the defensive end of the floor. His perimeter shooting (50%) was huge for the Mustangs on a night where they really struggled from beyond the arc. If Curtis can work on his distributing out of the PnR and start to hit teammates with skip and hook passes with more regularity- I expect his recruitment to take off this summer.
