Below are five southeastern Pennsylvania related predictions for the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest which takes place this weekend in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

1) [program_tooltip program_id='2078697' first='Philly' last='Pride'] Select 17s Will Have a Big Weekend

Two weekends ago this team assembled a 3-0 record at the HGHQ May showdown. They spent last weekend practicing and getting ready for the Southern Jam Fest. So, this group is locked in and has momentum heading down to Virginia. Combine those facts with a talented roster that includes electric combo guards [player_tooltip player_id='1589139' first='Reggie' last='Selden, Jr.'] and Kamani Healey, versatile wings [player_tooltip player_id='1990915' first='Tariq' last='Jennings'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1173985' first='Jeremiah' last='White'] as well as stock rising power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1118630' first='Nelson' last='Lamizana'] and you get a recipe for success this weekend. Be sure to also keep an eye out for point guard Rylan Muniz.

2) [player_tooltip player_id='1187956' first='Aasim' last='Burton'] Lights Up Southern Jam Fest

During April, the dynamic point guard nicknamed “Flash” did a tremendous job scoring and distributing for [program_tooltip program_id='2078678' first='East' last='Coast Power'] HGSL 17u. Now that high level stretch-4 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1379452' first='Andrew' last='Phillips'] is out of the mix (2023 who committed to Lafayette last weekend), Burton will be expected to increase his scoring load. Our prediction is that he will meet that challenge. Burton's ridiculous speed and athleticism enable him to score in transition. His dribble drive skill set is killer too. Plus, he is a high percentage 3-point shooter. Burton holds an offer from Sacred Heart. He should expect more to come flooding in after he kills it in Virginia this coming weekend.

3) NJ Scholars EYBL 16u Could Run the Table

Do not let the name fool you. This Scholars group is loaded with extraordinarily talented prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania, and they are rolling right now. The St. Joe's Prep guard trio of [player_tooltip player_id='1197607' first='Jaron' last='McKie'], [player_tooltip player_id='1188621' first='Olin' last='Chamberlain'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1460800' first='Jordan' last='Ellerbee'] handle the perimeter scoring. McKie posted a monster April live period and was impressive again last weekend at Post & Pivot Spring Fling. Chamberlain and Ellerbee are legitimate DI prospects too. This team can also run with a twin towers lineup featuring top rated 2025s [player_tooltip player_id='1188620' first='Shareef' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1153953' first='Luke' last='Bevilacqua']. As a nice bonus, 6'6” shooting guard Brandon Oliver, one of the top ranked prospects in New Jersey, is a member of this roster too. It should be a winning weekend for this squad at the Southern Jam Fest.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='1865348' first='Jaen' last='Chatman'] Posts a Big Weekend

Chatman (NJ Panthers HGSL) is a two-way playmaker who was simply dominant at several events in April. We anticipate that he will continue to play at an elite level this weekend. On offense Chatman is a walking bucket as he can score at all 3-levels. Still, it is his accurate long-distance shooting (56 made threes this winter) that will grab the attention of college coaches and scouts. The East Stroudsburg South product is an underrated facilitator too. At the other end, Chatman is a tenacious defender who turns steals / deflections into easy points for himself and teammates.

5) Philly Revolution 15s is Going to Impress

Philly Rev's 15u group has an excellent mix of highly rated guards to go along with talented interior prospects who are flying under the radar. Point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1888851' first='Kobe' last='Bazemore'] is one of the best 2026 distributors in the region. [player_tooltip player_id='1608273' first='Max' last='Moshinski'] provides high percentage 3-point shooting. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2121579' first='Brian' last='Donahue'] can score at all three levels. Providing inside scoring is stretch-4 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1888864' first='Owen' last='Kelly'] as well a 6'5" small forward Nick Lilly and 6'6” power forward Tristen Ganges. The ball movement and spacing this team plays with on offense is captivating.
