Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
One could easily argue for Moshinski as the MVP of the championship game, as the Iona commit did pieces of everything on both ends of the floor to help Judge emerge victorious. With his starting backcourt both struggling with foul trouble, Moshinski took on an increased load as a ballhandler, navigating Neumann’s swarming ball pressure to help get the Crusaders into offense and make things happen going toward the rim. He used his length and toughness to crash the glass for 10 rebounds while his rangy athleticism on the defensive end caused problems for a smaller Neumann rotation. The type of versatility he displayed on the biggest of stages projects as a calling card for him in his transition to the MAAC.

A veteran of the Palestra experience by this point, Moshinski was unfazed by the bright lights and stepped up with a tough-nosed effort on the wing. He was effective as a slasher, helped space the floor for Judge’s other perimeter pieces, and played versatile defense with his size, athleticism, and toughness. Even on what wasn’t his best night, Moshinski was still able to show some of the value he’ll bring to the MAAC with a member of his future coaching staff in the crowd looking on.

19p 9r 3a 3s vs Spalding
-One of my favorite players to watch in this young season as a W/F tweener that does so much to impact winning. Moshinski started off the game with a deep 3, had a beautoful pocket pass off the bounce to his big, then almost converted a baseline spin reverse layup before he was fouled after grabbing the offensive rebound. His mix of perimeter shooting, above-the-rim finishing ability, and defensive versatility make him so valuable for this Father Judge team. Think that he’s a prospect that will surprise some people with his play at the next level at Iona.

19p 3r 3a 3s 1b vs Rutgers Prep
-Moshinski’s athletic ability and motor really stood out as he blew the competition away with his activity in a matchup with Rutgers Prep. The Iona commit hit his only 3 point attempt of the game, completed putback dunks with a perfectly-timed jump, was active in passing lanes defensively, and served as a high-level lob threat in transition. Where he really shines is as a driver, using simple jabs or sweeps before explosively attacking downhill to make a play at the rim or dump off to a teammate for an easy look at the rim. Love his motor and defensive instincts as a defender that reads opposing passers well while taking calculated gambles that usually pay off with a 2-handed dunk at the other end.

Moshinski is a smooth operating swingman who showcased his diverse offensive repertoire. He does a good job driving baseline while on the attack. He shoots a clean ball from deep and if his is in a groove good luck getting him out of it. He made several trips to the foul line and was able to cash in on free points. Moshinski was in good spots on the floor to get rebounds. He has no issue finding others for scoring chances of their own and processes the game well. Moshinski has picked up over a half-dozen offers with his play.

One of the hottest prospects in eastern Pennsylvania continues to see his recruiting stock skyrocket. Over the weekend, Moshinski pulled in offers from Penn, Marist, and Merrimack. In June he crushed the competition with his three-level scoring skills, versatility, and sneaky athleticism. Moshinski’s size, agility, shooting touch and hops created serious match-up issues for opponents.

At Philly HS Live SI, Moshinski crushed the competition with his three-level scoring skills, versatility, and sneaky athleticism. His size, agility, shooting touch and hops also created serious match-up issues for opponents. Moshinski’s performances impressed several college coaches too. Within 24 hours of that live period event, Boston U, Drexel, Hofstra, NJIT and Binghamton sent Moshinski an offer.

At Philly HS Live SI, Moshinski proved to be a match-up nightmare and posted an incredible weekend. If you don’t believe me, ask the coaching staffs at Boston U, Drexel, Hofstra, and Binghamton. All four of those DI programs sent Moshinski an offer 24 hours after Philly HS Live concluded. Moshinski is a hybrid shooting guard / forward who displayed a great deal of versatility and sneaky athleticism. He popped threes, blew by his man off the bounce and scored in transition. The 6’6” Moshinki also used his agility and hops to cap several attacks on the hoop with a crowd-pleasing dunk. Plus, Moshinski scored in close over smaller defenders with his soft touch. The scary part is Moshinski is just scratching the surface of his potential.

We touched recently on Moshinski’s emergence during the start of the grassroots season, and he looks to be carrying the momentum over into the high school setting while finally stepping into a prominent role after biding his time at Judge. The bouncy and energetic swingman was his typical self on Tuesday, causing havoc in transition with his ability to cover ground and finish athletically. He showed progress as well with his ability to create his own shot in the halfcourt, highlighted by a pair of impressive drives and finishes to his left hand in the second half. It’s only a matter of time before the D1 interest starts parlaying itself into offers, with the chance for mid-majors to potentially get involved if he shows the ability to consistently knock down shots at a reasonable clip.

Waiting in the wings behind a talented older core at Judge, Moshinski came on strong down the stretch of the year en route to PCL and state championship victories. He continued his strong play into the spring, showcasing his athletic slashing ability, defensive playmaking, and transition scoring. Heavily on the radar of several academic D1 programs up to the mid-major level, it should only be a matter of time before the offers start trickling in. While it’s taken a bit for him to break out, Moshinski’s upside remains quite alluring if he can refine his jump shot and build on the flashes of ballhandling and playmaking that he’s shown in the past.
