It’s with the same passion for the game that we get ramped up for the upcoming year. With Realignment now a reality and the recent Spring Valley Spring League completed, the season is beginning to take shape. 4A will see the exit of the team that ruled the Conference, with Mojave reclassing to 5A. It also sees the addition of 3A Champions Losee Lions, along with former 5A teams Canyon Springs, and Clark. It’s going to be another terrific year, let’s take a look at some contenders.
Sierra Vista – The Mountain Lions will have high-profile recruit Xavion Staton Xavion Staton 7'0" | C Sierra Vista | 2025 State #121 Nation NV , matched with dynamic PG EJ Dacuma EJ Dacuma 5'9" | PG Sierra Vista | 2025 State NV . The combination of those two should provide coach Bedowitz with perhaps his best team in program history.
Clark – Coach Lang’s youth movement looks like it may pay dividends this season. After cutting their teeth playing against 5A competition, the trio of Mario Allen Mario Allen 5'11" | CG Democracy Prep | 2026 State NV , Zyon Harris Zyon Harris 5'11" | CG Centennial | 2026 State NV , and Brenden Speed Brenden Speed 5'11" | PG Clark | 2026 State NV , combined with fellow freshman, and stock rising wing Jalen White Jalen White 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2026 State AZ provide the Chargers with one of the most talented teams in the conference.
Rancho – The Rams are loaded, not only will they return All-Conference performer R’zha Whittle R’zha Whittle 6'8" | C Rancho | 2024 State NV , but the backcourt of sniper Jakoi Lide Jakoi Lide 5'11" | PG Rancho | 2025 State NV and Jordan Childress Jordan Childress 5'10" | PG Rancho | 2024 State NV may be the best in the conference. They have size and depth with the emergence of 2026 prospect Austin Onykekonye Austin Onykekonye 6'4" | PF Rancho | 2026 State NV .
Somerset Losee – The defending 3A champs will come at opponents in waves. They return one of the best shooters in Roderick Johnson Roderick Johnson 5'10" | PG Somerset Losee | 2025 State NV , best on-ball defenders in Antwan Jones Antwan Jones 5'11" | SG Somerset Losee | 2025 State NV , and best rim protectors in Malachi Richardson Malachi Richardson 6'5" | PF Losee | 2024 State NV . Look for their competitiveness and championship DNA to make them a threat in every game.
Legacy – It took 4 OT’s and a legendary game for the Longhorns to be eliminated last year. Coach Darfour has to be chomping at the bit to get the season started. He’ll return talented PG Antonio Burns Antonio Burns 5'10" | PG Legacy | 2025 State NV and Sharpshooter Rahjon Chambers Rahjon Chambers 6'1" | SG Legacy | 2024 State NV . If Legacy is to break through this season, they’ll probably need strong play from class of 2025 stockriser D’anthony Rabb D’anthony Rabb 6'5" | SF Legacy | 2025 State NV .
