This will be a great setting to evaluate Onykekonye. He is an active big man with some athleticism. Looking to see what areas of his offensie game he’s added as well as any physical growth. He has the ability to be one of the more dominant glass cleaners at the event.

In my gut I know there is going to be a breakout game for Onykekonye this year. He’s long and athletic and has spent a year under the tutledge of Rancho Center RJ Whittle. In the past year he’s gone from a raw big, to one that can potentially make an impact for one of the 4A contenders.

Onykekonye has improved a lot between his freshman and sophomore season, now he gets a chance to put it all together. The long armed forward is a terrific defender with the ability to protect the rim. He is currently improving his hands, while developing a nice touch around the basket.

Onykekonye could pop at the event. The forward has size and showed a little athleticism during the Spring League. If what he did translates into a tournament format, then it’s going to provide terrific insight into what type of player the Rams will be getting for the 2023-24 season.

Onykekonye is on the brink of becoming a breakout player next year. His movement was a ton better than when I saw him during the high school season. The long armed big showed the ability to run both in a straight line as well as laterally. He also displayed some impressive explosion, throwing down a dunk in transition.

He’s perhaps one of the more intriguing bigs. He’s very raw, however he has long arms and a strong upper frame. His movement is ok, and he’s coachable. More floor time and improved hands, will go a long way in his development.
