First Team

Freshman of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id='1765518' first='Jude' last='Gibson'] (Ballard)
Stats: 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.6 steals, 43.9 FG%, 72.4 FT%

There were a number of highly productive freshmen around the state this year. Still, we'll give the FOY nod to Gibson, when considering the level of competition he played against, being asked to be the primary ball handler and playmaker from the jump, and producing at a high level on both ends of the floor. A quick, high IQ guard who can get to the rim, has a solid mid-range game and is a fantastic passer, Gibson looks like a future All-State player in 3A.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765521' first='Cal' last='Heydon'] (Coon Rapids-Bayard)
Stats: 20.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 48.6 FG%, 81.2 FT%

The leading freshman scorer in the state, Heydon is a big wing at 6-4 who showed that he can score from all three levels at a fairly efficient clip. He sees the floor well and is a willing passer, and he uses his length effectively on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765532' first='Jayden' last='McGregory'] (Des Moines North)
Stats: 14.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.1 steals, 45.5 FG%

McGregory is one of the best athletes in the 2026 class, and also a standout football player who will likely end up with Division I offers on the gridiron down the line. He uses that athleticism and his long frame to make a major impact on the hardwood as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172887' first='Tevin' last='Schultz'] (Senior)
Stats: 10.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 58.6 FG%

A 6-7 big man with great hands, footwork, and touch around the rim, Schultz will be in contention for the #1 spot in the class when rankings are put together later in the spring. He was a major contributor for a Rams team that was among the best in 4A all season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1726227' first='Caden' last='Sorensen'] (Union)
Stats: 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.3 steals, 43.0 FG%, 78.8 FT%

Sorensen had some huge scoring games for the Knights as a freshman, helping lead them on a deep postseason run. A playmaking guard who can create shots for himself or his teammates, he'll be the focal point of a Union program that seems to be trending in the right direction.

Second Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1765506' first='Brady' last='Boulton'] (Montezuma)
Stats: 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 3.0 steals, 45.6 FG%, 39.2 3P%, 80.0 FT%

Boulton led the Braves in scoring for the majority of the season. He's a small guard, but he understands how to create space to get his shot off with good footwork, and he finishes fairly well around the rim despite his smaller stature. He was a menace at the top of their zone, using his speed to jump passing lanes to turn defense into offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765543' first='Quinn' last='Street'] (Osage)
Stats: 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.7 steals, 41.9 FG%, 36.1 3P%

Street was a huge contributor for a Green Devils team that won 18 games, finishing second in scoring and leading the team in assists and steals. A smart guard who can score from all three levels, he did a great job getting his teammates involved while limiting turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765515' first='Jaidyn' last='Coon'] (Storm Lake)
Stats: 13.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 blocks, 52.7 FG%, 80.0 FT%

Coon is a fantastic athlete who uses his size, length, and athleticism to control games on both ends of the floor. At 6-4, he can score around the rim efficiently, stretch the floor, and control the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765514' first='Noah' last='Conley'] (Sioux City North)
Stats: 10.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, 42.9 FG%, 35.2 3P%

A quick, smart lead guard who impacts the game on both ends of the floor with his speed, Conley had some huge games for the Stars as a freshman, both as a scorer and a defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765503' first='Brock' last='Badding'] (Kuemper Catholic)
Stats: 8.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 41.1 FG%, 37.8 3P%

A knockdown shooter who was a key role player for a Knights team that qualified for the 2A state tournament, Badding has unlimited range and a quick release off the catch.

Third Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1558745' first='Sam' last='Mbingazo'] (City)
Stats: 7.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.2 blocks

[player_tooltip player_id='1765527' first='Julian' last='Manson'] (Iowa City West)
Stats: 8.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 53.1 FG%

[player_tooltip player_id='1765540' first='Holden' last='Roberts'] (Twin Cedars)
Stats: 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.9 steals

[player_tooltip player_id='1765526' first='Carter' last='Kleinwolterink'] (Boyden-Hull)
Stats: 13.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 34.5 3P%, 75.4 FT%

[player_tooltip player_id='2413578' first='Dylan' last='Bosma'] (Unity Christian)
Stats: 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals, 46.7 FG%, 42.5 3P%, 81.0 FT%

Fourth Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1765508' first='Cameron' last='Boyd'] (Storm Lake)
[player_tooltip player_id='1765538' first='Ben' last='Ramsey'] (IKM-Manning)
[player_tooltip player_id='1765523' first='Cael' last='Hogan'] (Southwest Valley)
[player_tooltip player_id='1765504' first='Nicolas' last='Ballenger'] (St. Albert)
[player_tooltip player_id='1765513' first='Ryan' last='Clair'] (East Sac County)

Honorable mentions: [player_tooltip player_id='1765534' first='Brayson' last='Mulder'] (MMCRU); [player_tooltip player_id='1781875' first='Carter' last='Schwab'] (Bishop Garrigan); [player_tooltip player_id='1765539' first='Max' last='Roach'] (Oskaloosa); [player_tooltip player_id='2731759' first='Coy' last='Lewis'] (Cherokee); Carson Streeter (South Winneshiek); [player_tooltip player_id='1765535' first='John' last='Nelson'] (Nevada); [player_tooltip player_id='1596452' first='Max' last='Griffin'] (Mediapolis); [player_tooltip player_id='1765510' first='Cameron' last='Casel'] (Bellevue); Jaxon Clark (Keokuk); [player_tooltip player_id='1765541' first='Conley' last='Schauf'] (Monticello)
