Ballenger transferred to play his senior year at MOC-Floyd Valley after spending his first three years at St. Albert. Last season he averaged 14.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on 37-34-67 shooting splits, and playing alongside more talent at MOC, his efficiency numbers should improve in his senior year. He’s a smart guard who can knock down shots from anywhere, plays with pace, and can get his teammates involved.
Ballenger played his freshman through junior years at St. Albert before transferring to defending champion MOC-Floyd Valley for his senior year. A talented shotmaker and playmaker off the dribble, he averaged 14.0 points and 2.2 assists per game as a junior and will give the Dutchmen a versatile scoring threat and shooter.
Ballenger put together a nice sophomore year for the Falcons, leading the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game while shooting nearly 36% from behind the arc. He has a quick release off the catch, and has really improved over the last year as a shot creator, improving as a ball-handler and decision-maker with the ball in his hands.
A talented scoring guard who can fill it up in a hurry from all three levels, Ballenger has the ability to take over the game offensively whether he’s operating as an off-ball shooter or a playmaker off the dribble. St. Albert should be improved this year, and Ballenger is a big reason why.
Ballenger had a good freshman season, averaging 11.6 points and knocking down nearly 38% of his 3-point attempts. He’s a really good shooter, especially off the catch, and he has worked hard throughout the spring and summer to improve as a playmaker and as a shooter off the dribble. Look for him to have a breakout sophomore season for the Falcons.
