One of the best athletes in the state, Mills can fly and has the speed and quickness to get where he needs to on the court. Currently second in the CMAC in scoring at 22.1 PPG, Mills is shooting 60% from the field. I’ve been impressed with the impact Mills has had on winning for his team, making a big impact in key games.
I recently watched Nigro score a career high 41 points in a victory over rival Alliance. Nigro is a functionally strong guard, who can take contact and finish with either hand at the rim. Nigro uses his strength and finishing ability to look for contact as he shoots a ton of free throws. A slippery guard, Nigro does a good job at using ball screens and getting to the paint. An inconsistent spot-up shooter, Nigro hit two spot-up 3-pointers against Alliance, something I’ll want to see more of as Nigro enters the crucial 17 U summer for his recruitment.

Brewer is a prospect who stood out in the Fall at the Toledo Top 64 event after an impressive summer with NW Ohio. A tough secondary creator, Brewer has taken huge steps in his ability to create his own shot and his contested looks off the bounce. I also thought Brewer took a leap athletically, becoming more explosive when attacking the rim. One of the top small school prospects from NW Ohio, an area that routinely has hidden gems, Brewer will be getting heavy scholarship interest this spring and summer.

Copley is one of the top players in southeast Ohio and having a great winter for Lucasville Valley in arguably the toughest conference in the region. Copley has taken big time steps as an off-movement shooter, running off screens and hitting shots from well beyond the 3-point line. After dominating small school competition this winter, it’ll be interesting to see how Copley adjusts on the Adidas Gold Circuit with Midwest Basketball Club this spring and summer, a great opportunity for Copley to be seen by more scholarship programs.

Solon will always play at a fast tempo and score the basketball, and Brown fits that style of play perfectly. Brown was a standout at the Cleveland Basketball Classic, showing his ability shoot it from the outside. Brown’s defensive engagement was also impressive, causing multiple turnovers with his length. I think Brown has the chance to play his way into scholarship opportunities this spring and summer but will also likely be highly pursued by Division III programs as well.
