Stumpf completely took the game over for the Ohio Buckets 15U squad. The Buckets got down early in their game and were fighting their way back for the win and Stumpf’s big-time second half did it. He got into the rhythm of the game and it was over. He was making shots from beyond the arc and attacking the basket greatly. He does a great job of slowing down and body control when going to finish at the rim. It creates space for him to get shots off against more athletic players. He wanted the ball in his hands late because he knew he was going to score and lead his team to the win.
Kowalcyk is becoming a stud! Every time I see him play he gets better and better. He has gotten better all around and it is due to his athletic leap. He is starting to fill his body out more, is more comfortable using it, and is confident around the rim. There is no hesitation and timidness to his game. He is simply going to go put the ball in the basket. Finishes in traffic and through contact really well. He is dunking it with little to no effort. His inside game has improved the most because of his mindset willing to attack the basket but he also seems more comfortable with his shot. Coming off the hand a bit smoother. The kid is one heck of a player and hasn’t even played his junior year yet.
Salmon was a problem in the post. He was the biggest and strongest kid on the court and made it an advantage for his team. He is big and he loves being that big. He is tough and punishes players for guarding for not matching that toughness. He has simple over-the-shoulder finishes. He posts big. He gets a lot of rebounds. He is not the best athlete in the gym but he might have the highest motor. Constantly fighting for rebounds and gives his all when out there. He talked to his guards through screens all game too.
Highlights
Allen is the only true point guard for his Ohio Buckets 16U team and he fills that role excellently. He is a quick and fast guard who can defend his tail off. He applies great full-court ball pressure. He plays with great effort and intensity at the end. Allen pushes the pace great too. He can beat his defender and then get the pace of the game up. He has good court vision and is always finding the open man. Gets the offense started. He is good at sacrificing for the betterment of the team. A winning player.
