Allen is a floor general who knows how to run a team. While undersized, he makes up for it with his IQ, passing ability, and control of the game. He’s a great on-ball defender who takes pride in competing on both ends. It’s been a little while since I’ve watched him, but I’ve always been a fan of his game. I’m excited to see the improvements he’s made and the leadership he brings to the court.

After starting the year 0-3, Lexington has found their stride thanks to two touchdowns from Allen in a 19-13 win over West Holmes to get back on the right side of the playoff bubble as the Minutemen currently sit as the 12th seed in region 10. Allen also scored a touchdown during Lexington’s win over Mansfield Senior, the first time Lexington has beaten Mansfield Senior since 2018. Few teams have played tougher schedules than Lexington who lost to 8-0 Ontario and 8-0 Shelby in the first two weeks of the season. They end the season with 8-0 Ashland, three games that will have them prepared if they can qualify for the playoffs.

Allen is a junior point guard, and I think is one of the most underrated point guards in the state. He is listed at 5’10 but has a good build so he is stronger than most think. This gives him a good ability to absorb and dictate contact. He can get to wherever he wants on the court and distributes with the best. He is a point guard you can build your team around. He knows his role and plays it very well. He plays his tail off on the defensive end and never makes mistakes on the offensive end.

I caught Lexington late in the high school season in a packed house against Ottawa Glandorf which introduced me to Allen for the first time. I was impressed with his quickness and ability to change speeds off the dribble. With his burst and creation off the bounce, Allen was given space at the high school level to shoot from 3-point range. I then caught Allen with the
Ohio Buckets
16 U group and thought Allen showed excellent on-ball defensive pressure. Forcing turnovers due to his activity on the ball, Allen will be best in an up-tempo offensive system. With Allen and

returning for the Minutemen, they are projected to once again be one of the best small-town teams in Ohio next season.

Allen is the only true point guard for his
Ohio Buckets
16U team and he fills that role excellently. He is a quick and fast guard who can defend his tail off. He applies great full-court ball pressure. He plays with great effort and intensity at the end. Allen pushes the pace great too. He can beat his defender and then get the pace of the game up. He has good court vision and is always finding the open man. Gets the offense started. He is good at sacrificing for the betterment of the team. A winning player.

. The point guard Allen made some big shots on Saturday night, punishing the Ottawa Glandorf zone defense for leaving him open. A quick guard who could change speeds off the dribble and get inside the lane, Allen drew fouls with his ability to drive off the bounce and get into the teeth of the defense. Unfortunately, a game changing play happened when Allen was called for a technical foul after a jump ball, that was a big swing in momentum for the Titans. Despite the loss, Lexington still has a chance to win a district title and they’ll be a team to watch for the future with all their young talent.
