Austin put in the best scoring performance I’ve seen out of him in a big win over Cudahy on Friday night. Finishing with 25 points, his jumper was falling at a high level as he has the ability to hit threes off the catch but also get into the mid-range and knock down shots off the bounce. He may not be an above-the-rim player, but Austin gets good elevation on his pull-up jumper making it extremely hard for defenders to contest when he gets a bit of space. Also showed off his court vision with some nice passes in transition as well as out of the high post to penetrate the Cudahy zone.
In what figured to be a tough matchup for Westosha Central in Grafton, this game ended up not even being close. A big reason why was Quinn Burns Quinn Burns 5’9″ | PG Westosha Central | 2024 State WI stretching the floor with his shooting range. He just couldn’t miss as he knocked down three after three while also mixing in some floaters attacking the basket. Often the smallest player on the floor, but someone opposing defenses can’t afford to lose track of because of how quickly he can heat up. Starting to hit his stride late in the season for Westosha.
Kon has been putting up some ridiculous stat-lines as a junior, and not just as a scorer. Against Pius XI he recorded 27 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 blocks all while shooting 11-15 from the field. At 6’6 he rebounds the ball incredibly well as a guard because he makes it a priority to find a body to box out once a shot goes up, and he attacks the ball with two hands at it’s highest point. Not a super explosive athlete but understands where to be defensively, and is quick off his feet to just got a piece of the ball and block shots. On the offensive end he knocked down his jump-shot opportunities, but for the most part was working hard off the ball to create easy looks at the basket.

Maurice Gibbs
Maurice Gibbs
Maurice put up a team high 20 points against Wisconsin Lutheran, using his quickness to get to his spots off the dribble. Incredibly quick both on and off the ball, and is fearless attacking the basket against size. Defend him too tight and he can blow by to the rim, but sag off and he can stop on a dime for a pull-up jumper. Having a productive senior season scoring 14 a night for Pius XI.
Prentice Young Prentice Young 6’4″ | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State #273 Nation WI consistently puts in very well rounded performances, getting it done on both ends of the floor. When defending smaller guards he may be giving up quickness, but he covers a lot of ground in his strides and understands his angles to consistently get in front of the ball and cut his man off. Has quick hands to pick up steals and get going in transition. PJ has good body control around the basket to finish in traffic, and also has a nice turnaround jumper that he turns to when he gets into the paint off the dribble. When the shot isn’t there he has the vision to kick it out to an open shooter, and he was also picking up assists with his willingness to launch the ball up the floor in transition. Finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win.

Elijah Griffin Elijah Griffin 6’1″ | PG Westosha Central | 2025 State #352 Nation WI is already establishing himself as one of the best passers in Wisconsin, even as just a sophomore. He has such a good feel for the game, and at times it looks like he’s just seeing everything move in slow motion as he notices every little detail on the floor. Even if there’s the slightest window to fit in a pass to a cutting teammate, Elijah is going to spot it and deliver an accurate pass. Yes there is the occasional turnover that results from the bit of flair he plays with, but the reward often outweighs the risk as his passing leads to countless scoring opportunities each game. Also showcased a dangerous outside jumper both off the catch and dribble. Helped lead Westosha to a big win over Grafton even while missing their 6’8 big.
You won’t find many quicker guards in Wisconsin than Jamiir Allen Jamiir Allen 6’0″ | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI . He can simply fly up and down the floor, and that showed when he took a turnover and flew all the way to the basket for a left handed dunk against Pius XI, leaving opposing players in his dust. Someone who will just sit deep in a stance and stay locked in on that end of the floor for the length of the game, never taking a play off. Offensively he has a dangerous pull-up jumper with the left hand, getting good elevation on his shot to get it off over length. Finished with 15 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals before picking up an offer from St. Cloud State a few days later.
