Jeff Exinor Jeff Exinor 6'4" | SF McDonogh | 2025 State #272 Nation MD | McDonogh/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 2
Exinor probably had one of the most productive seasons for a freshman in the state that no one was aware of. The 6-foot-4 wing is built like a rising senior and averaged an impressive 16 points per game. Because of his build and his skills on the football field, people automatically label Exinor as a football first type of prospect, but that isn’t the case at all. Exinor actually prefers basketball and will look to play at the next level with that being his primary sport. He’s a dependable driver and finisher, an underrated shot maker off the catch from three and the definition of a versatile defender.
Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | Archbishop Spalding/Team Melo
Ranking: No. 6
The fact that Washington worked his way into a senior-laden rotation for the Cavaliers this past season pretty much tells you all you need to know. He’s 6-foot-5 with athleticism, length and instincts that not many freshman come packed with. He’s willing to strive in a given role if it means that it will help the team win and his willingness to communicate while on the floor is mature beyond his years. Washington is a handful in transition where he can finish above the rim with regularity, is a major presence on the glass and can defend multiple positions effectively.
Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | St. Frances/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 9
It wouldn’t surprise me at that if we fast forwarded to when this class is seniors and Jackson finds himself in the top three of these rankings. He’s a 6-foot lead guard who is as fearless as they come. He takes immense pride in his defense and pressures the full length of the floor, is always looking to get his hands in the passing lanes for deflections and is willing to give up his body for charges as a weak side rotator. Offensively Jackson is extremely shifty with the ball. He has a quick first step that helps him get into the paint for soft touch finishes. He can stop on a dime and knock down mid-range pull ups and continues to improve on the consistency of his catch-and-shoots from beyond the arc.
Christian Thomas Christian Thomas 6'6" | SF C.E. King | 2025 State #325 Nation TX | SEED/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 11
Thomas is another high-ceiling prospect in this group. At 6-foot-5, Thomas possesses skills to play inside or out. Although he didn’t play against high competition this high school season, his numbers are nothing to scoff at. His confidence grew over the season as an operator with the ball and he learned how to create better space for himself or find others. He has good size to be a consistent presence on the glass and a shot disruptor in the paint.
Trent Egbiremolen Trent Egbiremolen 6'4" | CG St. Frances | 2025 State MD | City
Ranking: No. 17
Egbirmolen caught my eye in the state playoffs when he helped his team in a win over Milford Mill in the regional championship. He has great size as a combo guard and a frame that should fill out as he matures. He’s a confident shooter and can be a difference-maker from deep, but also has some layers to him as a playmaker operating off the dribble. Egbirmolen is a tough-nosed guard who isn’t afraid of physical play and will be monitored by us closely as we move forward.
Mario Tatum Mario Tatum 6'2" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2025 State MD | Mt. Carmel/ Team Durant
Ranking: No. 18
Tatum was a player who got his shot in stints throughout the season playing on a deep and experience Mt. Carmel squad. He’s got a good frame for a freshman that can sustain contact on drives to the basket. He can also hold his own against bigger matchups defensively when called upon. Tatum had a decent showing this season and certainly has the tools and potential to be a nice long-term prospect as a balanced guard who can both score and distribute.
Omarr Smith Omarr Smith 6'3" | SG City | 2025 State #319 Nation MD | Curley/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 29
Smith has a chance to move up this list quickly thanks to his size at 6-foot-3 and outside shooting ability. He’s a smooth lefty that can fill it up in a hurry from deep in a variety of ways. He maintains good balance on quick catch-and-shoot scenarios, has ability to come off pin downs and stay compact or even knock down a shot or two off the dribble. The rest of his game will come with time, but if he can pride himself on being a shot-maker from deep and an impact on the defensive end, I see plenty of programs getting involved with Smith over his high school career.
Brandon Holmes Brandon Holmes 6'9" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2025 State MD | Mt. St. Joe/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 37
Holmes is a unique freshman thanks to his size at 6-foot-7 and could very well be pushing 6-foot-8 at this point. He hasn’t been playing basketball for long, so overall he’s still somewhat raw, but he continues to put the pieces together and helped lead the Gaels to both the MIAA and BCL titles at the JV level this season. He can score inside at an efficient rate, is an underrated passer for his position and collects rebounds at an alarming rate.
Joseph Green Joseph Green 6'2" | CG Mount St. Joseph | 2025 State MD | Mt. St. Joe/Team Thrill
Ranking: No. 38
Green could be one of the next tough-nosed guard to come out of Mount St. Joseph. He’s 6-foot-2 and has a toughness about him that translates to winning on the basketball court. He gets downhill and finishes through contact, is a capable shot-maker with time and space and puts immense pride into his individual matchup on the defensive end.
Marlon Williams Marlon Williams 5'10" | CG Loyola Blakefield | 2025 State MD | Loyola Blakefield
Ranking: No. 39
Williams is a two-way player who scores within the flow of the offense. He has a good understanding of when to look for his opportunities and when it’s better to create for others. On the defensive end is where Williams brings a ton of value. He can be a difference-maker on that end by containing the other team’s best perimeter player and moves his feet well laterally without fouling.
Cam Fleming Cam Fleming 6'7" | PF St. Frances | 2025 State #207 Nation MD | Archbishop Spalding/ Team Durant
Rankings: No. 40
Fleming and Washington have the chance to be an electric frontcourt duo for the Cavs for years to come. Fleming possesses explosive athleticism and a 6-foot-7 frame that makes him a fun watch in transition or in lob scenarios. He skies for rebounds or blocks as the weak side defender, comes with a decent motor and plenty of upside as an overall prospect.
Jordan Hammond Jordan Hammond 5'10" | PG Loyola Blakefield | 2025 State MD | Loyola Blakefield/Team Melo
Ranking: No. 41
The Dons had their share of success at the JV level thanks to their talented lineup of guards. Hammond was a part of that group and hung his hat on being a shot-maker from deep, but also has the ability to make defenders pay for wild closeouts by making plays off the bounce.
Quron Elliot | Loyola Blakefield
Ranking: No. 43
Elliot did a great job of bringing whatever his team needed from the point guard position last season. He’s just 5-foot-7, but has the ability to control a game with his understanding of pace. He can play more of a distributor role if the guys around him are going or can pick up the slack and put the ball in the basket when things get flat.
