Trent Egbiremolen
About Trent
Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Egbiremolen was a stud for IMG this weekend and seemed to be the guy they turned too when they really needed a bucket. The 6-foot-5 guard/wing is a freak athlete, so he’s able to muscle his way into the paint and is stronger than basically any wing that he faces—he’s already built like a D1 player. But the uncommitted senior also has some pace and patience in his dribble game, which allows him to wiggle through small spaces and slow the game down to make decisions. I was super impressed by the ways in which he picked his spots to lean into his physical gifts rather than over utilizing them. Egbiremolen looks college ready right now.

Really liked Trent’s ability to score the ball in a variety of different ways. He showed that he can guard multiple positions throughout the game I evaluated of him. He is a threat to score the ball whenever he has it in his possession. Egbiremolen plays with an assertive motor that can be seen whenever he steps onto the floor. Egbiremolen should see traction at the division one level.

He sought out contact well on the attack which allowed him to spend a lot of time at the charity stripe. His long arms allow him to come up with rebounds. He shows flashes of playing on the basketball and making plays for others.

20p 9r 3a vs Mount St. Joseph (L)
Trent showcased a high level of shooting in this performance vs MSJ. He got off his jumper in a variety of ways in the first half. Also put up a few floaters in-between that were essential to his ability to score in bunches. Trent was the team’s leading scorer in this game and really their only consistent offensive threat. He finished with 20 and was effective on the glass as well, pulling in 9 rebounds. Egbiremolen showed he can be a solid scoring option while also remaining active on the opposite end of the floor. Kept his head up and made some nice passes to finish with 3 assists amidst the immediate need for his points.

Egbiremolen is an intriguing 2-way prospect that has taken strides as a ballhandler and driver to really thrive in the paint. Strong frame, good lateral mobility, leaper– he possesses all the physical tools you could want in a modern 2/3. Set shot is starting to fall at a more consistent rate and his finishing bag around the rim has improved, but the defensive versatility to be able to lock up 1-4 at the HS level is what makes him valuable at this level and the next
