Turner got valuable reps last season in the starting lineup, filling the void left by the injured Ian Williams at the point guard spot, but had his fair share of freshman moments in the process with Carroll on the outside looking in on the playoff picture. Fast forward a year and Carroll is a game away from the Palestra with Turner having emerged into a bona fide All-Catholic performer. Having sprouted a couple inches and added notable strength to his frame, Turner looked like a different player from the very start this season, consistently weaving his way through traffic off the bounce and making plays from the middle of the lane as both a scorer and facilitator. He shows an advanced floater package with ability to keep defenses honest from the perimeter as well. He’s still learning the in’s and out’s of how to manage a game at this level, but the on-ball juice with Turner appears to be very real and should have him on a D1 track moving forward.

The flashes were there last year for Turner, who played a starting role for Carroll but could often get lost in the shuffle with multiple nationally-ranked recruits ahead of him in the lineup, and had his fair share of freshman moments. With several transfers out of the program and a noteworthy physical jump since then, Turner has shown he not only belongs at this level but stands out, earning him more than a 30-spot jump in this edition of the rankings. He’s a shifty ballhandler who creates advantages at the point of attack and shows increasing comfort as a finisher both at the rim and with a deep floater package. Turner is still in the early stages of filling out his body but has emerged as a bona fide D1 prospect with some upside if he continues to develop at this same rate.

Turner is a 2028 guard that brings a much more mature feel and advanced movements to the floor. Now standing closer to 6-foot-1 than 5-foot-9 like he’s listed here, Turner controlled the tempo of the game despite being harassed by an opposing, seasoned senior guard on Coolidge. He used an array of hesitations, crossovers, and spins to maneuver his way to the paint, force rotations and show off his floor vision. If he wasn’t setting up another teammate, Turner was putting pressure on the rim and visiting the free-throw line after drawing contact. The sophomore guard would finish with 11 points and four assists.

Carroll took a tough loss in the season-opener, but Turner showed positive signs of building on the experience he gained as a freshman starter throughout last season. Having sprouted a couple inches in the offseason, Turner was effective using a crafty handle and deceptive pace to knife his way into the lane with regularity. He showed polish to his pace and footwork in the lane, mostly to set up a series of soft-touch floaters that he converted efficiently over oncoming shot-blockers. Turner showed poise and slick vision on a handful of drive-and-kicks as well. As he continues growing into his frame and proving himself as a perimeter shooter to keep defenses honest, he should have a chance to emerge onto D1 radars before much longer.

In 2024-25 the fast and wiry Turner started a handful of games for Carroll. He operated as a pass first point guard and held his own in the PCL. However, the departure of all-everything wing prospect

should change Turner’s role moving forward. Starting this weekend, Turner will be expected to score and distribute for Carroll. From what I have seen this spring, Turner is ready for that increased scoring role. Turner can produce points off the dribble as he can slip through even the smallest openings in the lane and then lay the ball in. Turner can also use those dribble skills to get to his mid-range spots for a pull up. If the help defense manages to cut off Turner, he will execute a drop pass to the dunker spot or kick out to an open shooter. Turner has also displayed a dependable 3-point shot.

sidelined for the year following knew surgery, Turner wound up with a lot on his plate as the starting point guard from day one in the PCL. He took some lumps at times as expected, but showed plenty of positive flashes while never wavering in his confidence. Turner plays a smooth game off the dribble, with an advanced middle game for his age and little fear of getting in among the trees to make plays. He also shows a willingness to guard the ball with passion. It’s still too early to speculate on a college projection before he starts to physically mature, but Turner certainly used his freshman year to announce himself onto the radar.
