continues to find ways to exhibit his glaring offensive polish and advanced skillset paired with his legitimate positional size, and that was once again very much the case Thursday evening for the left handed four star wing. Continuing his emergence as a true two way wing, Brunson demonstrated the impressive attributes to his game as a bigger wing with scoring prowess and willingness as a facilitator— crafty and creative shot creation with poise, impressive soft touch shooting from the outside, attacking driving angles in transition and in the half court, all while also making plays for perimeter shooters and finishers in the dunker spot with his impressive passing feel and potent court vision.

Brunson wasn’t at his absolute best on Thursday, hampered by three first-half fouls, but still managed to step up when it mattered most while leading the Argonauts to a win over Salem. He came out looking to facilitate, penetrating off the bounce before whipping passes out to shooters on the weak side. The southpaw scored 12 of his 18 points after halftime, with 10 coming in the fourth quarter after the Rams had cut the lead to single digits. His ability to attack off the dribble at his size while also making shots from all over the floor and stuffing the stat sheet in the floor game make him a clearcut high-major prospect even on a nominal off night.

still found ways to highlight much of the intrigue that surrounds the long term upside he possesses at his position. Continuing to stake a claim as the best long-term prospect in the state regardless of class, Brunson put on a show with a dynamic 27-point effort. A quickly-blossoming big guard, the southpaw controlled the game with his blend of size and perimeter skill. Brunson established himself early as a reliable threat from beyond the arc before shifting focus as the game progressed toward getting to his spots off the bounce. Once in the paint, he showed crafty footwork and dexterity as a finisher with evolving strength and athleticism while also making nice passes out to shooters from the middle of the floor. While he’s still learning the breadth of ways he can impact a game coming off a sizable growth spurt, Brunson showed a commitment to crashing the glass while also helping out as a rim protector in undersized lineups. The ceiling is as high as it gets with Brunson, who’s starting to turn potential into production at a rapid pace.

strung together moments that highlighted much of that offensive skillset. Brunson saw an intense defensive coverage that featured heavy help in the gaps and multiple bodies when he attacked driving angles however, responded well to not only the physicality but also in the different ways he found to produce offense— scoring off the ball, getting to the free throw line, and creating drive and kick opportunities for his teammates. Brunson also leveraged his length to crash the glass and come up with a handful of second chance opportunities and secure possessions on the defensive end.
