A Wisconsin native who spent his sophomore season at IMG Academy, Gnewuch is an intriguing wing prospect with good positional size and length. He is an above-average athlete who can finish above the rim and impact the game in transition. Gnewuch plays with a high basketball IQ and continues to show development in his skill set, particularly with his perimeter shooting and ball handling since arriving in the fall. With his physical tools and steady improvement, he is a prospect Division I coaches will be trackign in the 2028 class.

Gnewuch, like most freshman playing at the varsity level, had his ups and downs during the 2024-25 season. But his future looks exceptionally bright as he has the size, length, athelticism and skill to become an impact player on a consistent basis for Edgewood. He had 11 points on two three-point baskets, a mid-range pull-up jump shot, a contested dunk and a free throw against Monona Grove. As he continues to add strength and aggressiveness to his game, Gnewuch figures to become one of the elite players in the Badger Conference over the next three seasons.

AJ looks like he could be an instant impact freshman for Edgewood. The 6’3 wing already offers some size for his team, with the agility at that size to defend a number of spots on the floor. His team got off to a sloppy start against Waukesha West, but I was impressed with his ball security and decision making. What stood out most though was his outside shot. AJ was a zone buster in this game, draining 8 threes over the course of the game, and helping his team come from behind to pick up a comeback win.
