Bergquist was phenomenal for Middlesex Magic’s 16u HGSL team this weekend. The 6-foot-4 point-forward does everything with force on both ends and has the physicality of a college player already. He’s strong, athletic, and tough, and he uses his physical tools to bully opposing wings and guards under the rim while blowing by taller and longer players on the perimeter. He has great passing vision—so he can be used as a hub on that end—but he also does the little things and can be off the ball. Defensively, he guards all positions and plays very hard. Once Bergquist makes some improvements to his shot, he could get some scholarship looks. At the very least, I wouldn’t be surprised to see high level D3 schools be very interested in him once the time comes.

Berquist, a wing out of the Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut, is a playmaker with the ball in his hands that has shown the ability to make teammates better offensively. He’s got good positional size and length and knows how to get defenders off balance with the ball in his hands. He makes some good passes in the half-court and is an instinctive cutter when he moves off the ball with the ability to finish with his lengtha round the rim. Defensively, he makes plays in passing lanes and does a really nice job of rebounding in space. Bergquist recently announced that he will reclassify to the Class of 2028.
