A true floor general. Can be an effective scorer from all 3 levels, with no dip 3’s and a quick release. A twitchy guard who likes to penetrate while taking his defender laterally to find a weakness in the gaps. As the scrimmaged developed against Burlington he went to his bag of tricks, having more effective attack dribble. Christian is a projected D3 player in college but with 3 full high school seasons anything can happen.

I’m just waiting for Pastore to develop more physically, because once he does, the entire MIAA is going to be put on notice. The 5-foot-7 guard is short and skinny, but he has one of the more refined skillsets you’ll see for a sophomore guard. He has a wonderful handle and the head fakes and feel necessary to make up for his lack of explosiveness. He also shoots it incredibly well from three and has nice passing vision. Bigger and stronger players can frustrate him, but when he undergoes his growth spurt (which could be this year), he’s going to be a problem.

Pastore totally wow’d with his offensive bag and skill set. Sure, he’s only 5-foot-7, but the Billerica rising sophomore has the ball on a string and has every dribble move in the book. Crossovers, hesitations, spin moves, smitty’s — you name it, he has it. He also strokes it from three and got super hot during Thursday’s first semifinal game; he can shoot it off the catch and off the dribble, with little space. Oh, and he has really solid vision when the help defense comes. He needs to grow and get stronger to really kickstart his recruitment, but you won’t find many more skilled guards that Pastore. Joy to watch.
