Holdman did a great job getting to the basket throughout the first half of the basketball game. If he wasn’t laying the ball up, he was getting fouled and going to the free-throw line. At one point in the game Booker T. Washington was down by double digits and Holdman’s energy allowed them to get on a run and get back in the basketball game. He is a player that plays hard every single play on both ends of the court.

was the best player on his team in this one. He scored inside a few times, shot 8/10 from the free throw line, and hit a mid-range floater. He had a few rebounds and also played solid defense, coming away with a few steals. Outside of his steals, he showed good hands to knock the ball away a couple of times from the ball-handler. His biggest impact came on the offensive end.

Holdman is a guy that is full of energy on both ends of the floor. He is a threat from the three-point line and can also get to the basketball on call. What people don’t talk about enough is his basketball IQ and how he understands when to shot it and when to pass it. When he goes to the basket he has no problem finishing around the defender or over the top of them. Whoever decides to give him a chance at the college level will not be disappointed at all.

While most of the top games on Tuesday night were in the Oklahoma City area, we did have an intriguing match-up in north Tulsa as Booker T Washington hosted Bartlesville. It was a stellar performance from the Hornets from start to finish as they would send the Bruins headed back up highway 75 with a 77-47 defeat. The Hornets were led by senior guard

A newcomer to the Hornets, Holdman is one of the more athletic guards in the state. When he gets downhill, he plays well through contact with his combination of strength and explosiveness. For the tournament he averaged 14 points a game, as Booker T Washington went 2-1, finishing in third place.
What is holding the athletic power guard back as a prospect is lapses in intensity. He’s often the most athletic player on the court, but lacks the assertiveness to take over. In the semifinal match up vs Mustang, he kick started a second half rally attempt for the Hornets, which had trailed by double digits the entire game. It started when he showed his explosiveness by finishing a dunk through contact in half-court. The power dunk brought swagger and intensity to himself and his teammates. If that attitude and action becomes more common for Holdman, he would be one of the best players on the east side of Oklahoma.

After a slow start, Holdman finished with a fury. He ignited his team in the final frame with an impressive dunk through contact in the halfcourt. This play also sparked aggression in him, as he attacked on the offensive end with new intensity. The power guard also had a nifty stepback jumper in the second half. His strength was evident on the defensive end with the physicality he brought when covering Johnson. Holdman had 12 of his 15 points in the second half.

Holdman helped the Hornets out to a quick start with 7 early points, including an impressive transition slam. He plays much bigger than his size thanks to strength and explosiveness. But he can often go too long while being anonymous on the court. The 2023 guard finished with 13 points on only 8 shots, which is good from an efficiency standpoint, but also shows where he has room to grow with more aggression on the offensive end.

A newcomer to the team, Holdman is a powerful guard with the quickness and strength to be among the best finishers in the state this upcoming season. He should thrive in the up tempo style that the Hornets aim to play. The jump to the Frontier Conference and Class 6A will be an adjustment period, but the upside Holdman represents makes him a must watch prospect as scrimmages start next month and the season in December.

An athletic and powerful lead guard, Holdman is new to Booker T Washington. His explosive finishing ability at the rim should be a good match for the up-tempo style the Hornets play. While he shines the best as a downhill scorer, the combo guard does have playmaking potential as a facilitator for others. Regional four year small colleges looking to add to athleticism and strength should make Holdman a priority target. But it would not be shocking if JuCo is a route Holdman takes, as there is “D1” upside. And unfortunately for talented Oklahoma prospects, in recent years it has been very difficult for deserving prospects to play their way on to Division One college recruiting boards off of senior year high school production alone.
