Expert Analysis

Kaimen has without a doubt been working on his shot. His release has improved and he is shooting the ball with confidence. Robinson has a mid-range face up shot that he likes to go along with his athleticism. As a shooter from beyond the arc, he also shows more confidence and is seemingly best right now when he can catch-and-shoot. He also continues to evolve as a defender. Robinson uses his length well and is always a threat to push the ball off of a turnover.

Booker T Washington is replacing an outstanding senior class and that opens the door for the high upside sophomore to make a huge impact this upcoming season. His production came in stretches, with flashes of very promising play. With a huge wingspan and athletic potential he can play bigger and more agile that a lot of other 6’7 prospects in Oklahoma.
At one point against an athletic squad he deflected a pass, raced to save the loose ball, went behind the back to control it, took a couple dribbles and made a nice transition assist. It’s flashes like that which indicate the potential Robinson has because of his god given gifts. Finding the right balanced between perimeter plays like that and scoring around the rim will be a key in unlocking his upside.

The upside was apparent in a double digit performance to start Robinson’s time in Kansas City. Flashed the athleticism by ripping and going from the wing for a slam. Getting on the offensive glass to. Also knocked down a stepback and a catch and shoot triple. It was a dazzling start, before he cooled down in the final minutes of a tough loss. Few Oklahoma prospects have his unique combination of size and athleticism. The light hasn’t fully come on, but when it does. Look out. His potential sophomore emergence to combine to with his upperclassmen at Booker T Washington should have them as State Title contenders. Even if they’re up in Class 6A.

Fitting into a team heavy with underclassmen isn’t easy, which led to a quieter year than expected for a prospect with such high longterm upside. There’s a natural learning curve for a still physically maturing to compete against upperclassman. Still there were flashes of his potential with dunks around the rim. And the ability to punish defenders on post ups. During 14U play he did consistently show the ability to step out and hit threes, push the ball off rebounds and attack off the dribble. With a prospect like Robinson, it’s often a question of when not if, that his production starts to match his big time potential. And it could start as soon as this spring with Brad Beal Elite in EYBL play.

The current headliner of the class. Robinson has a sky high ceiling and has flashed it during scrimmages with BTW. Has promising abilities to change games around the basket with his size, wingspan and burgeoning athletic ability. While also capable of shooting in the mid-range and three. The expectations are high for Robinson. Staying even kill during typical freshman growing pains will be crucial. As it’s marathon, not a sprint.

The tallest player at the camp, it was no surprise to see the Hornet among the standouts. He drew “oohs and ahhs” with a handful of rim rattling slams. While also taking advantage of the free flowing nature of camp basketball to display his improving perimeter skills. Robinson will likely cut his teeth this year as a rim presence for a Booker T team returning one of the best backcourts in Oklahoma. But don’t sleep on his ability to stretch the floor by hitting spotting up threes. Or attacking fellow forwards off the dribble.

Robinson is likely the top prospect in the Class of 2029. He’s more than just his height. Sure he can post up and score at the rim. Along with already blocking shots and finishing with slams. But he has true perimeter potential. From his improving athleticism to true shooting and ball handling abilitiy. He’s one of the highest ceiling prospects in Oklahoma, regardless of class. It’s big expectations for the youngster, but he’s young and full of potential. Expect him to turn that potential into production at Booker T Washington, sooner rather than later.
