The senior guard has been a sharpshooter since his freshman year for the Hornets. Hitting clutch shots as part of three State Tournament teams, culminating in a championship last year. He’s steady and dependable, who knows how to play within the Hornets’ system. It’s an admirable trait, as it helps everyone eat for a deep BTW team. But with only a couple weeks left in Sanders’ high school career, don’t be surprised if Sanders starts attacking with more aggression. As seniors are the difference makers and he has the skillset to change the biggest games.

Sanders missed a large chunk of November with a finger injury, but the senior is back and came out of the gates shooting. Drilled a three to start the scoring in the game. Then had a key scoring stretch in the fourth. Hit another triple, then a great reverse layup take. Smartly used the rim to protect the ball against a defender. He’s one of the top unsigned senior guards in Oklahoma.

Sanders has been lighting it up since his freshman year for the Hornets. Money off the bounce or as a spot up option. Plays with a fantastic motor and overall feel. Allowing him to impact the game beyond his height, as a scrappy rebounder and in your face defender. Type of prospect who given the nature of college basketball getting older, could do a couple years at a JuCo and pop up on a D1 roster. Or a very high level D2 program. Is proof college coaches can’t go wrong with either BTW senior guard.

Sanders got Booker T Washington off to a hot shot with his perimeter shooting and speedy attacking game. Then it was he who they turned to late in the contest to get a spark on offense. They ran a designed look for him and it was nothing but net and was the start of a 7-0 run. Clearly a type of shooter who can shift momentum with his makes. Finished with 17 points.

The surging junior was locked in from beyond the arc, hitting at least four three pointers. When Douglass close outs ran him off the line, Sanders also got active in the mid-range with smooth pull up jumpers. This month Sanders has made his case as one of the elite shooters in Oklahoma.
In a star studded game, it was the junior who was the best player on the floor. It’s pick your poison in trying to slow down the Booker T Washington starting five. And based on Thursday night, good luck to teams trying to silence the sniper from deep.

One of the top shooters in Oklahoma’s rising class was looking more like the complete scoring package for Booker T Washington last Saturday. Much more fluid and strong when getting to his spots in the mid-range and to the rim. Will rattle off threes in a hurry, and now gets busy off the dribble. The maturation of his all game bares similarity to his older brother who was a standout a few years ago, the younger Sanders isn’t quite as fast as his brother. But his additional height makes him a big time threat.
