One of the highest upside players in the Toledo area, Chenault has taken a major leap this season and has continued to gain confidence at the offensive end of the court. The flashes Chenault shows as an open court athlete and ability to play with the ball in his hands is so intriguing. Hoping to see Chenault turn these flashes into consistent production, he has the talent to keep improving. A prospect who is rapidly improving but still has a long way to reach his full potential. Chenault will be a prospect Division I teams will want to get their eyes on during spring and summer live periods.
The flashes Chenault showed on Saturday are why he will be a stock riser in our 2027 rankings update this week. Chenault had a baseline drive and slam dunk, hit a right to left crossover into a floater and moved in transition like a clear Division I athlete. Still needing some time to polish his skills, Chenault’s upside is through the roof and if he continues to produce at a high level he will see his recruitment blow up this summer.
Chenault is someone who has always had a ton of potential, and it is starting to really shine for the junior. He is listed at 6’7, and someone I thought would develop into a bouncy forward has transformed his game into a mismatch wing. He plays on the perimeter a lot and can strip it from beyond the arc. His three-point shot is really nice and can’t be contested much. He shows great touch in the lane and around the rim. I am excited to see how his game also continues to grow the older and stronger he gets. I’m really excited about the way he has developed thus far.
A prospect who screams upside, the pieces are starting to click for Chenault who recently announced he’d be playing for Wildcat Select this summer on the 3SSB circuit. I put Toledo St Francis at second in my preseason Division II rankings and they’ve started the season strong. Expect Chenault to continue to gain confidence throughout the season and build some momentum heading into a crucial final season of grassroots basketball for him.
Chenault is the modern forward every coach wants on their team. With his great height, length, and athleticism, he plays above the rim consistently on offense. He’s extremely effective in the dunker spot, where he finishes strong, and he provides rim protection and rebounding on the defensive end. Chenault impacts the game in multiple ways and fits perfectly in today’s style of play.
The flashes with Chenault are very intriguing as he makes wow plays that few prospects in the class of 2027 can match. The way he moves at his size with the fluidity and speed is impressive and he’s taken steps as a finisher at the rim. Also capable of going coast to coast after securing defensive rebounds or steals, Chenault is best in the open court right now. A prospect I need to see more of, I’ve seen Chenault play less than almost every other ranked prospect. Excited to continue to watch Chenault grow and get a better evaluation of his game.
An athlete who is starting to turn the corner, Chenault is one of the more intriguing prospects from Toledo’s 2027 class. Chenault was more productive than I’ve seen him before with a couple eye-popping flash plays. Able to grab and go off defensive rebounds and push in transition, Chenault moves at a different tempo and burst than a lot of other guys on the court. I’ll be very intrigued to keep tabs on Chenault’s development because he is clearly on the right track at the moment.
