Wiggins showed a ton of improvement as a 3-point shooter last winter and he has continued to showcase his ability as one of the better two-way players in his class. He lit it up from distance in their game against Perseverance Pirates
and filled in the gaps with his tough defense, hustle in transition, and quick decision-making in the half court. Very solid performance from the 2027 guard.
Wiggins is a grinder. By now, you surely have heard of his defensive acumen, but it’s also evident by those 9.7 RPG just how hard this kid plays. His impact was wide spread; one rebound off the tournament lead, 8th in 3PM, perfect in his trips to the foul line, and nearly a double-double average while making plays on both ends.
Wiggins came out of the gates feeling it from distance and ended up being that steady offensive presence the Lions needed to build a lead and advance. His ability to stretch the floor and handle the ball helped set up Bellarmine’s bigs with some more space to operate around the key, and his decision-making helped them control the pace throughout the contest.
Wiggins has really improved on the offensive end, specifically with his jumper from different levels. He’s a more consistent outside threat, but also has opened up some more of the floor with his short to midrange jumper. He’s also still an outstanding defender and plays with a big motor, and that defensive acumen has been a big asset to their team defense, which has stifled opponents to an average of 47.3 PPG.
A high rising wing in the 2027 class, Ronnie had a great summer for Rotary. He knows how to use his size and length to his advantage when attacking down-hill but can also score from the mid-range and deep levels. He brings energy to the court and plays great defense. Keep an eye on Wiggins next season.
Wiggins has been a defensive stalwart this spring and should be one of the better defenders in the state next season. His ability to move his feet, stay in front, and pick his spots when to gamble allows him to effectively guard just about any player out there. He was looking good on the offensive end too, hitting some outside shots, working efficiently with his touches, staying composed attacking the hoop, and not wasting dribbles or time out there.
The defensive difference maker played with great energy and hustle over the weekend. Most kids his age like to go for blocks in run down situations but Wiggins is a kid who wants to, and can, beat guys to the spot to force tough shots. He consistently sprinted back in transition to cut guys off outside the paint, and showed great anticipation and quickness while guarding multiple positions. He’s able to harass a vast array of sizes and skillsets with his defensive work.
One of the toughest defenders in his class, Wiggins plays with boundless energy and can smother ballhandlers to force errors. He’s also a worker on the glass, can dart inside and convert some tough finishes inside, and has shown some feel from outside to space the floor. Really stood out for his defensive effort this season but has a solid offensive profile that should continue to get better into next year.
Wiggins was a key guy in Bellarmine’s near upset over Olympia in the opening round of the 4A SPSL tournament on Tuesday night. He’s a high-level defender but it was his offense that really got going against Olympia. He showed off some impressive 3PT shooting on the night, hitting key shots from downtown throughout the game. He hit one at end of the first quarter, hit another in the second, and then drilled another 3 from the corner to make it a one-point game late in overtime. He was hitting just about every open shot he got but also played a key role in getting his brother going down low, making a few well-placed entry passes to let Dylan WigginsDylanWiggins

go up and bury shots inside.
Wiggins is go, go, go. A super high-effort player who plays baseline to baseline, Wiggins matches that effort with skill and is the type of player who can wear down the opposition with his constant drives to the hoop. He’s a tough finisher, doesn’t ever seem to give up on a play, and has also shown some good potential with his jumper. He’s definitely got the ability to create space for it with his handle, and when it goes in it’s a pretty shot, but the long-range shot is probably the area most needing of improvement.
