About Nolan
Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Larson is a strong slashing/defending wing, but he’s started to add to his game, especially offensively, as he’s been thrust into a larger role this season. He plays with good balance while attacking the hoop, finishes strong, and can mix in some pretty athletic finishes around defenders too. But his biggest areas of growth have been from behind the arc and working off the dribble. He’s been relied on to create a lot more this winter and has been up for the task in his junior season.

Larson is an athletic wing who isn’t afraid to do the dirty work. He’s a grinder defensively and can guard multiple positions, rebounds well for his position, and has proven to be a strong and athletic finisher around the paint. He can also knock down some midrange shots and stretch out to three at times.

Larson is a powerful athlete whose effort and engine show up in a big way on the defensive end and making little plays throughout the game that get his team extra possessions. He’s a strong kid who can get up and finish high at the rim or use his body to create contact and space in close. He’ll guard multiple positions at a high level and can be a real difference-maker with his hustle and intensity.

Larson has been a key defender this season, picking up multiple positions, showing the quickness to defend along the perimeter and the length and athleticism to defend inside. He’s also shown good toughness to contribute on the glass and has been pretty effective floating around the paint to clean up misses or work off of penetration to catch the ball in close with some momentum to the rim. He shows some promise to develop his offensive game along the perimeter but right now it’s his defense and rebounding that are helping him elevate his team’s play.

Larson is already showing in one game how he can affect the game defensively. He’s a strong perimeter defender, rebounds at a high rate, and even blocked some shots inside against Seattle Academy. He’s a pretty versatile, well-rounded defender who should continue to make a big impact on that end. Larson also showed some good touch finishing with either hand around the hoop.
