Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
The unsigned senior has been running with WA Supreme this spring and he brings a valuable skill set and mind set to the court. He’s a physical wing who’s shown he’s willing to do the unglamorous work, but still skilled enough to hit timely buckets and spur action offensively. He’s a worker, pure and simple, and can bang with bigger forwards inside with his strength while also being able to make guards work on the perimeter. He hit a few nice midrange shots last weekend to go along with some good work on the boards.

Wiggins had a great week and was a key guy in keeping Bellarmine in three close games. Although they lost each game, his presence helped keep them in it until the final buzzer, losing games to Olympia (by four), Rogers (by three), and Graham Kapowsin (by two). He did a great job establishing low position and if he was anywhere near the rim he was likely to put it in. He was physical but controlled, exhibiting good patience once he got the ball. He cashed in at the line when he was fouled, found some open midrange shots late in the break and working against the zone, and just provided a steady stream of buckets that kept Bellarmine competitive in three close SPSL tournament games.

He continues to physically look more like a wing, but Wiggins still has the strength to muscle up shots inside and did a lot of that early on in their game against Lincoln. A good mix of tough finishes and good position under the hoop, combined with some powerful drives from the perimeter gave him an effective night scoring the ball. And while he’s got the power to get downhill, he also showed he can turn his man and work angles too.

The 6-foot-6 senior wing has continued his development as a more capable 1v1 player and showed he can handle a pretty decent workload offensively last season. He’s got more help now as both Nick Sanders Nick Sanders 6'0" | SG Rogers-Puyallup | 2025 State WA and Jamaire Grant Jamaire Grant 6'2" | PG Rogers-Puyallup | 2025 State WA transfer over to Bellarmine for the 2023-24 season. Sanders is a solid guard who can provide some scoring, and Grant should help create more opportunities for Wiggins to score off cuts and pick and rolls. Wiggins is also a kid who can defend across multiple positions and continues to show more and more athleticism as he gets older.

Wiggins has continued to become more versatile as the years go on. He has slowly expanded the range and reliability of his jumper, becoming steadier with the dribble and really has rounded out his offensive game. He’s always been a tough player that fights on both ends, but this could be the year he really breaks out and puts it all together.

As the summer went on, Wiggins got more aggressive, more confident, and looks ready to take on a big role for Bellarmine Prep this season. The forward plays a physical game inside but has shown he can put the ball on the floor and attack from the mid-range and has clearly been working to solidify that jumper, making him a more dynamic player.
