Many times OHSAA programs lack size so with the emergence of a few powerhouse prep programs in the state, the amount of big talent has gone up significantly in Ohio. Trandafir is a stretch big who can also protect the rim. That combination of skills on both ends of the court will make him intriguing to Division I programs as he had an impressive summer on Puma’s NXTPRO circuit. At a program with so much college talent, Trandafir could be slipping through the cracks this winter but I would bet on him figuring it out down the line.

Trandafir is coming off a productive grassroots campaign with Top Shot Basketball as he checks in at the No. 6 spot at the center position. He’s a bouncy big man prospect who can attack the paint from the perimeter as well as create post-up opportunities around the rim with his size and frame at 6-foot-11. He’s due for a breakout season in the Rabun Gap rotation in 2024-25 and is worth getting eyes on.

Trandafir is a new name to the state, but is already showing college level potential in his elite frame, combined with inside out ability on the offensive end. He’s got legitimate floor spacing potential at the next level, along with a nice face up game and good touch in the low post. A little thin, but with so much time, he’ll be able to put on the weight and be a college-ready body. Also has intriguing rim protection upside on the defensive end. Should have a breakout summer with Top Shot Basketball 16U.

Trandafir is an Romanian national out of Rabun Gap to keep an eye on in the latest rankings update at 52. He’s shown he can finish around the rim as quite the paint presence and can step out on the perimeter to knock down shots as well. He’s a big man at 6-foot-11 who’s quite the emerging inside-out presence to keep an eye on this grassroots scene with Top Shot Basketball .

Trandafir showed off some really intriguing ability for a prospect I hadn’t seen before, knocking down perimeter jumpers, showcasing touch in the paint, and showing a willingness to screen and rebound. Ideally needs to put some more weight and strength on his frame, but didn’t need it last night with the way he attacked and played. Should be a name to monitor over the coming seasons at Rabun Gap.
