-The Navy commit really showed some good moxie throughout the game, forcing several jump balls and turnovers throughout the game while contributing his trademark shot-making to the WRA offense. Sprague stayed down in transition to block his opponent’s shot at the rim, knocked down corner threes off of explosive lifts or V cuts within WRA’s offensive systems, rejected a screen to quickly get into a 1-dribble 18-footer late in the game, and has packed muscle onto his frame to allow him to body up with forwards on switches. His willingness to crash the glass to double team opposing bigs on box outs or chase down 50/50 balls with guards made him a valuable piece for a disciplined WRA team that almost pulled out a last-second win.

The Navy pledge can score tough buckets by getting to his spots in the mid-range and is very effective in half-court situations. He scored eight points and made the most of his reserve role. He takes what the defense gives him and uses his physicality to break down defenders, consistently creating quality scoring opportunities. Really like the winning mentality he brings to the game.

Sprauge provided a nice spark for WRA and was a prospect who chipped in a fair share of buckets. Sprauge finished with 11 points and even scored from behind the arc. He doesn’t let the ball stick to his hands. I like the way he can impact the game in different ways. He is a prospect who I believe is fringe division one prospect but should be prioritized by high d2 who could get themselves a great player if he slips to that level.

One of my favorite players to just watch compete, Sprague is one tough kid. I like how everything Sprague contributes to his team will translate to the college level with off ball cutting, playing off two feet and spot-up jumpers. Never looking rushed or out of control, Sprague should have an easy time transitioning to a college offense next season. I think Division II programs should be all over Sprague and is well worth a look at the low major level as well.

My top performer of the day, Sprague barely missed a shot and was locked in the entire practice on both ends of the court. The strong and compact guard did a nice job of getting to the paint off DHO and pick and roll actions and used both hands to finish past shot contests. Shooting the ball with confidence, I got to see Sprauge play with a freedom that you don’t get to see as a bench option for City Rocks on the EYBL circuit. Always nice to see kids in different settings and Sprague played a role in the summer but could see more offensive responsibility game in and game out this winter.

Sprauge showed that he could make plays on both ends of the floor often throughout the game. He scored in a variety of ways. Sprauge had four three pointers. Sprauge thinks the game at a high level. He was also able to be active on the boards and come up with steals on the defensive end. He is a tough kid who helps impact winning and is no stranger to making hustle plays. Sparuge finished with 23 points. He is a coaches dream and the Ivy and Patriots should be making him a priority.

Another Western Reserve Academy guard, Sprauge comes from New York and plays for the City Rocks. A shifty guard off the dribble, Sprauge can really punish a defense by attacking the basket using his variety of dribble moves to beat the primary defender. Always in attack mode, Sprauge plays with a lot of energy on both ends of the court. Still need to see more games from Sprauge to see just how well he shoots the ball from the outside and if he can be a primary ball handler and take care of the basketball. To me, Sprauge projects as a Division I target and should get plenty of looks in the summer.

Sprauge impacts the game in all facets. He showed he could score from behind the arc converting on two attempts from deep. He ran the floor with ease and finished on easy chances around the rim. He also was able to make plays and find teammates in an array of spots. Sprauge chipped in 14 points.

A new prospect I’ve barely had any game sample of prior to today, Sprauge was a nice surprise to watch today. A guard who competes on both ends, Sprauge plays his heart out on the court and is a leader out there. His aggressiveness occasionally led to turnovers but you’ll live with that given the effort and offensive spark he provides to his team. A tough shot maker from the outside, Sprauge hit some shots off the dribble on Sunday. The righty also made some impressive left-handed passes on drives, a unique skill that makes him even tougher to shade to one side as a slasher.

A new member to Western Reserve Academy, Sprauge and his City Rocks 15 U team made it all the way to the Peach Jam 15 U championship. I didn’t get a chance to see Sprauge but his stats indicate he’s a high-volume scorer with six made 3-pointers and throughout the week. I’ll be excited to get my eyes on Sprauge sometime in the winter.
